Anyone else notice the interesting trend of how people in PRE will read a thread in OBOB, and then start another thread about it in PRE in order to debate against it...meanwhile complaining that Catholics can't come in their own thread and debate.

This is funny...in a wierd kind of way. I guess IDD is alive and well?

I think it is. There are those that post here just so they can plant seeds of doubt in the minds of the faithful and to make sure that Protestants do not feel drawn to the Church.

Why read the PRE?

If you want a monumental struggle - an "Impossible Dream" - try to get a group of Protestants to agree on the color of grass.

Can it be done?

Will such a discussion lead to further schism?

How can one divide a totally invisible thing that anyone who says he belongs to must belong to?

Actually I do, I only read when someone here brings something to my attention. I thought they had calmed down but I was surprised to see how many Catholic debating threads are in there right now. I wish Catholics and Orthodox would just let them talk amongst themselves and stop trying to enlighten them, their just not interested in that.

How did they get in here in the first place since you must agree to the terms laid out in the creed to become a member?

And that has always baffled me...seems dangerous to allow the deception to exist in our midst, but I guess people aren't supposed to go into GA unless they can handle it, etc.

If you're referring to the threads I started, all but one were in response to people responding to me first. The other was to correct a misrepresentation of Calvin on the Perpetual Virginity of Mary. You have no grounds for a complaint.

In my dealings with atheists, when other Christians are involved, I have found that I am treated more hospitably. Why? Because of the level of vitriol that is equally (if not more) expended at myself, supposedly a fellow Christian, as is expended at the atheists. In my mind, this only supports my position because if I act calm, cool and collected under fire from both sides I have practiced what I preached.

I have found quite a few atheists that appreciate Catholicism, maybe because it was the culture they grew up in, and they see that Catholicism is more than just about talking a faith, it's about walking a road for life in every aspect of life, and I just try to play that up with them... hoping that the Holy Spirit rekindles that fire within them.

There have been threads here started in response to threads in the PRE as well. But I guess us Protestants are always just trying to undermine the "Church"
