If you want to become part of the family of the people of God then baptism is the normative path by which that happens.

if so where and how can we get baptized?
Speak to the minister of your congregation. Technically any Christian can baptise, but it normally ought to be done by the minister of the congregation you are entering.

better safe than sorry though, right?
Yes, well get baptised if you can. Is there something stopping you from getting baptised?

There are people who don't get baptised because they don't get the chance to be baptised and there is nothing to suggest that they will go to hell. In fact Christ said to one that he would be with Him in paradise on the cross.
If you have the chance then do so. After all, Christ Himself was baptised.

According to many Christians, yes you will
It is better for you to say that you don't really know what Christians believe at all.

We do need to be water-immersion (burial) baptized into Jesus Christ's death for our sins in order to be saved (Mark 16:16, 1 Peter 3:21, Acts 2:38, Acts 22:16, Romans 6:3-11, Galatians 3:27, Colossians 2:12).

If you believe with all your heart that Jesus Christ is the human/divine Son of God (Acts 8:37), you can get baptized anywhere there's water (Acts 8:36) into which you can be fully-immersed (buried) (Romans 6:3-11, Colossians 2:12). Make sure to be baptized in the name of the Father; the Son, Jesus Christ; and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19, Acts 2:38).

You can get water baptized at, for example, any Baptist church.

Besides getting water baptized, Christians also need to get Holy Spirit baptized (1 Corinthians 12:13, Acts 11:15-16, Acts 10:44-47, John 3:5).

Christians usually have to ask to receive the Holy Spirit (Luke 11:13) baptism, because it isn't usually automatically given to Christians the moment they become believers; that's why Paul asked some believers: "Have ye received the Holy Spirit since ye believed?" (Acts 19:2).

Christians usually receive Holy Spirit baptism through prayer accompanied by the laying on of hands, subsequent to water baptism: They "prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Spirit: For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit" (Acts 8:14-17). "They were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied" (Acts 19:5-6).

Many Christians haven't yet experienced this simply because they haven't yet asked for it, under the principle of: "ye have not, because ye ask not" (James 4:2). Many Christians haven't yet asked for it because they've come under the influence of false teachings which say that it's no longer in effect.

You can get hands laid on you to receive the Holy Spirit baptism at, for example, any Charismatic or Pentecostal church.

Jesus said to do it, so do it. We are saved by grace, through faith in what Jesus did, dying and rising again to save us from our sins. But he said that his followers need to be baptized (Mark 16:16), and if we are to love him, we must do as he commands (John 14:15).

You are asking the wrong question.
God provided water baptism (immersion) to help us have some physical actions tied to the Spiritual actions we have or are experiencing. The going down into the water is like interring the grave for our old life. We buried our old sinful life. We are being washed clean (like Christ blood washes us clean). We are placing our life in the hands of another (turning our life over to God). We come out of the water into a new life surrounded by fellow Christians (born again into a new family). It is a humbling experience of allowing turning ourselves over to another (we humbly accept God’s forgiveness). This also becomes our first outward witness to help remind others of Christ’s death and resurrection.

Somebody is being impolite. You better read the New Testament and not be hostile towards your presumed enemies. The Christian is a follower of Christ and not governments, societies, peoples, cultures, opinions, even churches & their creeds. Be true to Jesus and really do listen to him and follow him. Welcome Muslims here and thus obeying Jesus. It is hard to have one person to listen to, but that is what it takes to make it into Heaven; through Jesus alone. I hope that you understand me. Have a good night.

The act of baptizing is important to all Christians. It is a public show of your faith and direction and commitment in life, to follow & obey Jesus alone. I would get baptized and have been, because Jesus gave the command. There must be order in our faith, but their must be obedience to Jesus above all you do; his teachings and commands.

The church that you attend and enjoy is the one to be baptized in. Faith, confession of sins & commitment to Jesus is what you are demonstrating by baptism. Certain performances of the act isn't the importance of it. Being faithful and committed to Jesus for life is what counts. I would go whole-heartedly to be baptized, not sprinkled or dunked, just accepting the church's standards in this, unless you are led otherwise. I am sure that many Christians were baptized fully and didn't even live up to their commitment to Christ, yet some were hardly baptized and fell in love with Jesus. Perfection is in the willing and loving heart for God. Acts are acts, but facts are facts. Be a lover of your Father and not a lover of religion; have a real personal, trusting and loving relationship. Be found with faith.

If our search function works, you could do a search on username Camery who wrote the best post I've ever read on CF. It addresses your question! There are 2, so if you find one and it's meh, keep looking.

I encourage you to be in a rush to know G-d, but to wait until you actually know what you're doing before getting baptized.

you don't have your location shown, so I'll just assume you are in America.

Orthodoxy in America - Home

This should help you find a local parish, then you can speak to the priest about receiving Baptism.

Is the reason you haven't been baptized because people have quoted Luke 23:42-43 to you and told you that it means you don't have to be baptized to be saved? If so, people merely assume that the thief on the cross hadn't been baptized; Luke 23:42-43 doesn't say that he hadn't been baptized. He could have been baptized before Luke 23:42-43 happened, but then backslid and committed theft.

Also, baptism is only a New Covenant (New Testament) requirement for salvation (Mark 16:16, 1 Peter 3:21, Acts 2:38, Acts 22:16, Romans 6:3-11, Galatians 3:27, Colossians 2:12), and the New Covenant wasn't put into effect until Jesus died (Hebrews 9:16-17, Matthew 26:28). But Luke 23:42-43 happened before Jesus died, so baptism wasn't yet a requirement for salvation.

But now that Jesus' death is past, we have to obey all of his New Covenant (New Testament) commandments (John 14:21-24) if we want to be saved (Hebrews 5:9), including Jesus' commandment that every believer get baptized (Matthew 28:19, Mark 16:16).

There is much in the Bible that says baptism is a key part of a faith. Try get to grips with the following scriptures, then decide if God is prompting you to be baptised.
Romans ch6, Gal 4:27, Col 2:11-13, Math 28:19, Mark 16:16

What does the word explore mean if it doesn't mean to interact with Christians and others to find out about Christianity? Be open to talk and discuss things to help these non-Christians.

Requiring anything in addition to faith in Jesus Christ for salvation is a works-based salvation. To add anything to the gospel is to say that Jesus' death on the cross was not sufficient to purchase our salvation. To say we must be baptized in order to be saved is to say we must add our own good works and obedience to Christ's death in order to make it sufficient for salvation. Jesus' death alone paid for our sins (Romans 5:8; 2 Corinthians 5:21). Jesus' payment for our sins is appropriated to our “account” by faith alone (John 3:16; Acts 16:31; Ephesians 2:8-9). Therefore, baptism is an important step of obedience after salvation but cannot be a requirement for salvation.

Yes, there are some verses that seem to indicate baptism as a necessary requirement for salvation. However, since the Bible so clearly tells us that salvation is received by faith alone (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5), there must be a different interpretation of those verses. Scripture does not contradict Scripture. In Bible times, a person who converted from one religion to another was often baptized to identify conversion. Baptism was the means of making a decision public. Those who refused to be baptized were saying they did not truly believe. So, in the minds of the apostles and early disciples, the idea of an un-baptized believer was unheard of. When a person claimed to believe in Christ, yet was ashamed to proclaim his faith in public, it indicated that he did not have true faith.

If baptism is necessary for salvation, why would Paul have said, “I am thankful that I did not baptize any of you except Crispus and Gaius” (1 Corinthians 1:14)? Why would he have said, “For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel—not with words of human wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power” (1 Corinthians 1:17)? Granted, in this passage Paul is arguing against the divisions that plagued the Corinthian church. However, how could Paul possibly say, “I am thankful that I did not baptize…” or “For Christ did not send me to baptize…” if baptism were necessary for salvation? If baptism is necessary for salvation, Paul would literally be saying, “I am thankful that you were not saved…” and “For Christ did not send me to save…” That would be an unbelievably ridiculous statement for Paul to make. Further, when Paul gives a detailed outline of what he considers the gospel (1 Corinthians 15:1-8), why does he neglect to mention baptism? If baptism is a requirement for salvation, how could any presentation of the gospel lack a mention of baptism?
