I was watching Capitial TV yesturday.

Capital TV is a TV station that broadcasts political issues happening in my state, (Rhode Island).

This issue on the forum was same sex marriage. The forum board had witness after witness come up to testify as to why same sex marriage should be or should not be legalized in Rhode Island. What I heard coming out of the mouth of people was sickning.

Pastors, Reverends, Rabbis and Christian believers from many different denominations were speaking to support same sex marriages.

The religious leaders who spoke with their religious collared shirts said things that made me sick to my stomach. They said, with authority, how same sex marriage was God's will for man. They used love has the guiding factor as to why same sex marriages is right in the eyes of God. They twisted the Bible verses that speak against homosexual relstionships. There were hunderds of people there and it was broadcasted on TV.

I could only think how this very same thing probably happened when the Sabbath day was changed many years ago.

Love is the issue for God's creation. But love without God's Law is just lust.

We are clearly in the last days.

I believe that as of this year, we will start to see an marked increase in events unfolding.... the natural world, the politacal world, the economic world and the moral nature of man are all set to culminate and begin there rapid movements towards the papacy driven, UN backed, one world order.

It's time to put on our armor brothers and pray for a deep conviction of our hearts that we may repent of all our sinful character and put on the new man and fully reflect Christs character in all we do and say...

As my sig. says.... the time is fulfilled(ing) and the Kingdom of God is at hand (halleluiah!!!). Come quickly Lord Jesus and strengthen us for the time ahead....

It's interesting watching the news about the earthquake in New Zealand. Commentators running around trying to work out why this has happened and what can be done about it. Seismologists have said that they are noticing a marked increase in earthquake and other phenomena, and that they will only increase in coming years.

What we know is that this is all part of the signs of Christ's return, but tell the "experts" that and they think you're daft.

And that too is a sign of the closeness.

Yes. I have noticed that the closer we get to the return of Christ, the angrier non-Christians seem to get; particularly atheists. I remember as a teenager that atheism would hardly be mentioned and that those who were atheist would politely debate with Christians.

Today atheists are often militant, and seem to go out of their way to try and upset Christians. Here in the UK we have our 10 yearly census this May. Already in my local paper the local humanist group has written in and asked people not to put "Christian" down as
By ticking Christian, rather than no religion, this has influenced central and local government policy. It has led to an increase in divisive and discriminatory faith schools, (which the majority of the population are against), large amounts of money for “faith groups” in local areas, the appointment of “faith advisors” to government departments and proliferation of NHS funded hospital chaplains.

The link to the letter is here: Letter: Should you be a Christian on the census? « Shropshire Star

Yet another sign that the end is very near.

Amen! Finally some kindred spirits. Sin, sin, sin everywhere and nobody seems to mind. People of the same sex getting married, women no longer submitting to their husbands, drugs, drinking, not to mention whole populations given over to excess in drink and gluttony in recent years.

So many Christians even are rejecting the commandments that they find "inconvenient." "I can fornicate, I can cheat, I can cut my hair as a women, I can do non-procreational lustful acts with either end of my digestive tract pressed into service as a sex organ, I can be a vegetarian, or obese or drunk or I can be gay and it's OK" despite the Bible's very clear instructions on all of these points.

I Timothy 4:1-3 "But the spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons. By means of the hypocrisy of liars seared in their own conscience as with a branding iron, men who forbid marriage and advocate abstaining from foods which God has created to be gratefully shared in by those who believe and know the truth."

In other words, we either worship God or we don't. There is no happy puppydog middle ground.

As for New Zealand, and other areas: Matthew 24:7 says "For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes." Can it be any clearer than that?

And why NZ? Jenny Shipley, Tim Southee. abortions on the rise, stem cell use, and more and more of them are fat. Get this: During the 2005 election, Prime Minister Helen Clark stated that she thought it was discriminatory to exclude same-sex couples from the Marriage Act 1955, but said she would not push to change it!!!

The result?

Luke 10:10-12 says "But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say, even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you. But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city."

Zephaniah 2 says "This shall they have for their pride, because they have reproached and magnified themselves against the people of the LORD of hosts. The LORD will be terrible unto them: for he will famish all the gods of the earth; and men shall worship him, every one from his place, even all the isles of the heathen."

It's the end times all right. Prophesy is being fulfilled.

I suppose the Sabath being changed did make the Jewish folks sick and anyone under the old Covanant, I'm a gentile, the Apostles already got togather and made a decision on what legalistic laws we gentiles need to follow and that was not to eat meat sacrificed to idols, eating blood and to keep oneself from sexual immorality. I guess Paul should of taught in a little more depth in Colossians 2:16 so that you would understand what he meant about the sabath was a shadow of Jesus, Jesus is our rest. but really what ever you do in honor of God it will be blessed, whether you decide to never eat pork and shrimp and other forbidden food, or whether you keep everyday as if it were the sabath, I wonder if you were to keep every day Holy like the Sabath, if you would get a bigger reward in heaven, thats a good question for another thread

As many SDA members are vegetarian, this doesn't make sense to me???

Yeah, I'm not understanding the non Biblical nature of being a vegetarian either... it was never commanded to be a vegetarian but being so, on the sound advice of sister White, for health, doesn't seem to contravene any scripture.

Romans 14:2 says "For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs." In 1 Timothy 4:1-3 we read that a "doctrine of devils" is abstention from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth."

Those who condone vegetarianism are like those who, in my view, read the Bible only for the rules that OTHER PEOPLE must follow. When it is inconvenient for the rest of them, they trot out the "oh, but it was a different culture then..." The gays say the exact same thing. There is nothing in the Bible in favor of vegetarians. Only AGAINST, as I have carefully quoted above.

No one should be commanding anyone to become a vegetarian. Healthy living and caring for God's temple is one of the ministries of the SDA. This ministry is to help people serve the Lord better, enjoy life to its fullest and to help heal those who are unhealthy due to improper nutrition.

Your quoting of Romans 14:2 is a great example of taking a verse out of context. If you read the verse before and after, you will gain a different understanding of it.

Romans 14:1-3
Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.

For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.

Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.

Two points to note here... the first verse states that one who is weak in faith comes to the brethren to be taught truth. This is the premise of what is being taught... the use of the term eating herbs for one who is weak in faith must be figurative and therefore be the same as our understanding of the 'milk' of the Word. Understanding this, the second verse and on come into a proper understanding like the analogy of milk and meat.

The reference to 'meats' in 1 Timothy is the same word used throughout scripture to refer to food in general :G1033.
To abstain from food because it is considered evil is what the verse is implying, in my estimation.

Maybe so. I am not a Biblical scholar. I am sure the homosexuals can parse through Leviticus with interpretations that that "lie with" in ancient Greek meant something else and or that the translation was technically incorrect, etc. etc. etc.

I do not mind if people are vegetarians. I support them. Love the sinner, hate the sin, that's my motto. :)

There is nothing in the Bible in favor of vegetarians. Only AGAINST, as I have carefully quoted above.

Gen 1:29
And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

Gen 2:17
And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;

Man's original diet was intended to be vegetarian and will be again in the new earth. It is impossible for me to think of paradise as chasing and killing animals for consumption.

God did give man certain animals to eat which were clean, while in our sinful state, just as He permitted the killing of innocent animals to be sacrificed because of sin.
