I was in a wreck today...

Hello everybody,

Just wanted to let you all know that I was in a car wreck very early this morning. I was hit on the front driver side (I was driving), the window shattered and fell into my lap... the left side of my face is cut up real good, but nothing that required stitches. My children were unharmed except for a few bruises.
I seriously doubt if my car is going to make it. It is a mangled mess.
Our guardian angels were definitely with us this morning.

P.S. If you decide to take a shower, be very careful not to rub any shards of glass into your scalp or to step on them. First brush as many out as possible without brushing your scalp. Is there any one who can come over and help you?

Nope, I'm all on my own on this one. I don't think it'll be too bad...but little pieces of glass have been falling off from me all day...

BTW, I posted a pic in the pub, but I'll post one here too. This is the damage (and a monster sized headache)...this is amazing considering the mangled mess the front side of my car was:

LoL....after cleaning my cuts I realised this.....there used to be a mole above my left eyebrow....well....it's pretty much gone now. LoL, something good did come out of this.

Photini, I'm so glad you and the children are okay!! Just be sure to keep those cuts bandaged and clean so they don't get infected. I really hope you don't have a concussion, those are nasty... and I hope you're feeling better by the time you get this!

Photini, how is your neck and those of your children? Whiplash is pretty common even when travelling at low speeds and can cause the vertebrae to become misaligned, so it might help to wear a foam neck brace for a while.

I opted to stay home from work today, because I seem to have a little concussion. Whenever I try to get up and do anything, I find myself wandering around and forgetting why I got up in the first place.

My neck is fine, though every muscle in my body is aching.

Thanks again for your prayers, and I hope now the insurance company will be generous and merciful towards me also.

I was in an accident a while ago, and I ached like you did. So the insurance company wanted to settle with me during the first week. My chiropractor said 'no'.

Two weeks after the accident, I was really a mess. I needed to see the chiropractor almost every other day for two weeks. He put huge packs of ice on my back and neck. It took me a year before I could sleep without pain. Then it took another two years before I was okay, as my hip would lock up when I walked and my neck was stiff for three years. Now I'm much better, but it took a lot of time to heal.

So be gentle with yourself. Pray a lot and don't work too hard.

My prayers for you.

P.S. I've had two accidents - the chiropractor helped me immensely and immediately, but the PT was very very very slow. Actually Physical Therapy is much more expensive and less effective for me.
