The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I know its hard! I almost did that the other day too! God will forgive you and you will be able to go that long again, just dont let one slip up ruin all the work you've made!

I was diagnosed with bulimia a couple of years ago. I haven't purged in a long time and am finally losing weight through healthy eating and exercise. I STILL have urges to purge though. Sometimes I have to clench the chair in order to prevent myself from running to the bathroom. It happens and I don't think bulimia will ever fully leave me. I understand that you may have some concern for doing that after having stopped for so many months. But, now that is over and you start from where you left off. It's no big deal. Just do not let yourself get back into it regularly!! Please, tell someone before that happens! Hang in there and stay strong!!!

Hayley Sweetie, being delivered from Bulemia doesn't mean temptation never befalls you again. And being delivered doesn't nesecarily mean that you never purge again, sadly. 
However, what being delievered does mean,you have been broken from the stronghold that keeps you from getting back on your feet and let Christ be your stength and sword!! 
Being delivered from stronghold enables us to be free in Christ Jesus, just as we were before the stronghold, meaning we are still subject to falling into sin, but aren't a slave to it. Pray and ask Jesus to make you dead to the former, dead to the conformity of the world, and alive to the Holy Spirit!
Ask Him to renew you, and wash you whiter than the snow.

Hayley deary, you are beautiful. You really are. I know this was posted a while back but I haven't talked to you in a while. It's a reminder that we're human and we can't do anything on our own! We have to rely on God and always trust in Him, otherwise we will relapse into our secret habits. Don't for one second think that you are a "failure" for it either. God is there, and you know this.
