I think I’m in hell. Please help me get to the bottom of this.

They used to be intrusive but now in the past and now they’re not so much they were my thoughts I believe. And I guess I never did believe that fully cuz I never had a changed life

Okay thank you for the advice. I hope it’s lies but I don’t know. It’s all so confusing. I will maybe try to keep praying and praying calming but I don’t know if it’s gonna do any good. It’s been years and month and prayers don’t really help me at all.

You might benefit from a deliverance ministry. Mental health issues can have a spiritual cause or root which you are unaware of and the medical profession does not account for.
People prayed for deliverance for me in the past and not a thing happens, makes me think I did the unforgivable sin because the power of God can’t come on me and cast demons out.

Thank you for explaining that, but I only repent when hell stuff happens. Not by God’s kindness. I definitely don’t feel forgiven or accepted. But I wish I could believe in Jesus more. And they were intrusive thoughts in the past by I still think them sometimes and I know they’re my thoughts now. And I lost all fear all together. But I don’t think them very much. Just I used to do it in the past so I sometimes think of the opposite when thinking of Jesus.

Not all necessarily know how to do deliverance. You do not have the unforgiveable sin.

Yeah I don’t think I’m born again and I defiantly don’t think I’m gonna make it in heaven’s gates. And I can say the salvation prayer till I’m blue in the face but nothing changes. I never had a salvation experience. Maybe I should be rebaptized? God’s kingdom does deserve to go on without me but I really don’t wanna suffer in hell forever. I had a couple tastes of it and it’s not something you want.

I know. I feel like I’ve seen glimpses of that. I really did do some terrible things.

God’s peace is completeness, resting in him. It’s when you reach for him and him alone. He promised that he won’t cast out any who come to him (John 6:37) and his promises are good.

I can’t tell you if you need to be rebaptised but I can say you need to be born of the Spirit (John 3:5-8) and that’s pure grace.

I removed my advice because I see now I can’t see exactly where you are. Trust God. Pray to him. Keep praying. And again, have faith.

This all sounds so familiar, one after another comes here with OCD chiming the same or very similar messages as you are. It's typical of OCD but what is particularly insidious is it seems to go right after that gospel message. This is why I've come to believe there is a spirit behind OCD specifically.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.

But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.

To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

(1 Peter 5:8-11, NKJV)

I went to Sunday school as a child. After awhile I stopped thinking about God as I was lost. When I was 22 I stopped using marijuana, quit smoking cigarettes, became sober and celibate. This time I thought God was my only chance, but was not sure if I would be able to understand. I liked to read the Bible specializing in the Gospel according Mark. I found the Proverb about not going to the house of the adulteress and remembered it. I was flat broke sometimes. I liked to think about war as a child. I learned to think about the non-violent teachings of Jesus. Then I worked jobs and stayed off public assistance. Went to libraries to read. Later in life I traveled to Israel to study Biblical geography and archaeology. I am 60 now.

Today I tried again to understand the Gospel harmony. In Matthew 17 Peter told Jesus the tax collector was collecting the annual half shekel temple tax. I remembered my studies of Judaism. I looked up Tractate Shekalim. They used to collect this temple tax in the month of Adar (Feb - March). I was able to see this event in Matthew happened about a month before the Passover festival (March - April) in Jerusalem where Jesus was killed.

I am reminded Jesus sent his disciples out to preach with the clothes on their backs. They did not have animals to ride on. They were not allowed to carry backpacks. God kept them safe and fed on their journeys as they were doing God’s work.

Hey Meggy. I found a bit of comfort and strength reading about others who have passed through similar experiences. It gave me hope to keep going forward. Keep praying. Keep knocking. Many are reaching out to you on this forum. Some experiences are similar and some are not. I guess our experiences are just as unique as we are. This website has some good advice on how to deal with Ocd and I have posted in the link a testimony of someone who was in ministry, how she fell off the cliff...and how Jesus restored her. Her story encourages me to keep moving forward in spite of allll the bad things I did wrong and Meggie...trust me.. Her testimony is amazing.

Hope for backslidden Christians: I found God again despite Hebrews 6 & Heb 10 and my fall from grace. You can return to God too

I understand your point Dave and I'm not against it but there are little innocent children who did no wrong affected by ocd as well who grew up in strong Christian homes and I'm basing this on many testimonies I have read on blasphemous thoughts.

If you believe the Lord Jesus Christ is God part of one same trinity, and you trust in his finish work in the cross you are justify. Nothing you do can take that away, since you did nothing to earn it. Except for the apostasy of no longer believing and not repenting from it. The only sin that can´t be forgiven is not trusting in the finish work of the Son for you salvation. Stop thinking about hell ASAP you are not going there, and think more about making our God proud with your lifestyle. Think about the heavinly crowns that await you.

I know and thanks for your response. We have also seen where people have tried everything including meds and been delivered.

I believe this too, because i had intrusive thoughts like the doctors describe and after detecting and driving off a spirit the thoughts stopped immediately.

I think you can't debate on this area of the forum, but even before being born you can have spiritual problems, you don't need to sin for the devil to take advantage sometimes.

I wasn't trying to debate. I apologise if it came forward that way. I do agree after being born again u can still have spiritual problems.

I'm reading the Word of God and bit by bit I'm getting better as well dealing with the lies. I'm just saying not to put all eggs in one basket.

The good news is you are alive, and for those who are alive, there is repentance available. Your fear is that you have committed the unpardonable sin. To understand that sin you first need to understand the cross. The bible tells us that the cross covers a life time of sins.

Heb 9:27-28 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many;

That verse tells us that as a person lives one life and dies, so Christ was offered as a sacrifice for that life time of sins. Verses like Hebrews 6, that mention a person falling away, state:

Heb 6:6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

Note Hebrews 6 states that the person is "crucifying to themselves the son of God afresh", or re-crucifying Christ. To do that the person must have died in their sins, for the cross covers a life time of sins. It is not referring to a Christian who has fallen into sin or sins, but rather to a Christian who has fallen into sin, stayed in those sins, and died in that state. For them repentance is no longer available. For there is no second cross available.

Sin has a blinding effect, it makes it hard for us to see the truth.

Heb 3:13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

The only way to be freed from this blindness it to repent, or turn away from sin.

Jas 4:8-10 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

As for what the unpardonable sin is, it is a state of heart where no matter what God does to draw a person to repentance they deny it. The pharisees were in such a state, for they would rather call the workings of the Holy Spirit a devil, than believe.

But the good news is that you have hope, God is still offering you repentance.
