  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I stand all amazed

I hope this is the right place to ask this question:

After trying to sing the song named in the title, with both of us not sure about the melody, I went to youtube to find a video which helps to teach that song. I was embarassed that many (the majority in my search results) are linked to Mormons. As far as I could look into history, it was not composed by a Mormon.

Has that song got some link to Mormonism (and how)? Or are Mormons (YSA, BCU choirs etc.) that much present on youtube?

EDIT: I know it is no modern P&W song, but I found no better forum than this.

Is this the song? ......If it is the name is I stand amazed, punch that in and you get something else besides Mormon stuff.

I Stand Amazed (How Marvelous)
Shane & Shane
I stand amazed in the presence
Of Jesus the Nazarene.
And wonder how He could love me,
A sinner condemned, unclean.
How marvelous, How wonderful
And my song will ever be
How marvelous, How wonderful
Is my Saviour's love for me.
He took my sins and my sorrows
He made them his very own
He bore the burden to Calvary
He suffered and bled for me.
How marvelous, How wonderful
And my song will ever be
How marvelous, How wonderful
Is my Saviour's love for me.
Forever I will sing Your praise
Jesus, Risen King
Oh my God I stand amazed that You loved me.
When with ransomed in glory
His face I at last shall see
Twill be joy…

No, this is another song.

An alternative Title of the song I mean is "Oh, It Is Wonderful". See hymnary.org for the text.

Try this one, I'm not sure if this guy is Mormon or not.
Well, I do not just search for a non-Mormon version (I've already seen the video you posted). It is that it took some time to find one which is like yours (no overt sign like "Latter Saints" or so), and I ask myself why?

Your video has a little, rather technical fault: the microphone was placed in a way that the leader (pastor) is heard a bit ahead of the congregation. They should have places the mics at the rear :D

Sorry, I was unaware you were looking for a sound perfect version, I was under the impression you wanted to hear it in order for you to sing it yourself.

Just trying to help.

Oh, I'm not looking or a version, I want to know about this apparent "Mormon connection". Just biased search results, or what happened?

Thank you that you tried to help.
