• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I am not sure if I should post this here but I was on the internet looking for info on a terrorist and what I found was a Image of man holding a head. It was real and I have never seen any thing more frightning in my hole life. the face Had a expersion of fear and pain on it as if it was crying. It was being held by a mask gun man, he was holding it in front of the camra as it was some kind of trophey. I never see anything so horribal in my life and I know my life was not in danger but I feel tromatized and hollow, as if my sanity died (as if I was there). I am sorry if this was the wrong place to put this but I need to tell some one.

Man's inhumanity to man will make you sick if you see it face-to-face (as you did).

While such things are indeed horrible, they show us the true nature of sin, and the need for us to turn away from it... :amen:

It also underscores the need to depend on God for protection - and to take whatever steps we can to help!

I saw some of the beheadings as well... I believe I saw 3 or 4 of them. I think God had me watch them to really see the types of people we are dealing with. When I saw the beheading of Nick Berg, I had enough..

Seeing those videos will probably stay with you forever, but it will make you a stronger person in the long run.

I've seen the beheading videos of Nick Berg and the Kim Sun Il.

Kim Sun Il's is one I'll never forget, not because he was Korean like me, but he was innocent and on a mission for God. Kim Sun Il was born into a poor family in South Korea (it's worse than being homeless in America), but he turned to God for help and became a devoted Christian. Part of a Christian organization, Kim Sun Il went to Iraq and got kidnapped. This man's crying and begging makes one understand how terrified he must have felt. His beheading video made me OVERLY mad at Abu Al-Zarqawi, the man who was behind such deed. You don't want to know how many times I said the f-word at Zarqawi in my mind that time. Losing sanity at that time, I came to realize that Kim Sun Il died a martyr, and he has a place in heaven. He died for the just cause, and such was enough justice done towards the evildoers who committed horrifying murder.

I am about to remove my avatar about St. John the Baptists beheading as that part of the ecclesiastical year is now over. But perhaps seeing beheading video's can help one relate to the many Saints of the early church who were beheaded as Christian martyrs.

I ssen some sick stuff like that. heard of death faces or movies like that where they have clips of people killing, die and commiting suicide? I have seen a movie like that whe i was about 16. It was disturbing and some peoplelaugh at stuff like that, but things like that happened, its part of life. Just try and not to think or worry about stuff like that.

I'm very sorry to hear that you've seen such a thing, and I can see how it could traumatize someone. I remember seeing Saddam Heusen's execution on video, and being profoundly affected by what I saw. Indeed, it's almost a life changing experience to see someone die before your very eyes, but remember ,like others in this thread have mentioned, you can use this to make yourself more aware of the horrible sufferings in this world, and perhaps find a way to minimize such suffering through your own actions.

I'm sorry that you seen a beheading. Seeing stuff like that can scar a person for a long time. That image will stick with you. I have seen alot of stuff too and stuff haunts me alot. I want to share a passage with you from the Bible. "Above all else, guard your heart, for it affects everything you do." -Proverbs 4:23. I read this Proverb the other day during one of my personal studies and it hit home with me. It's so true.

This image you seen of a beheading has touched you in your heart and you can't take that back. This is why it's so important for people to take care in what you expose yourself to. Everything we see we soak in and becomes a part of us in some way or another.

I hope that you heal from this and that you can get that horrible image out of your head. You will be in my thoughts. -Debby
