I remember one telephone for the household. It was located in the kitchen. If you needed privacy, the cord would reach to the bathroom. What day you??

I remember one telephone for the household.
Our first push button phones still weren’t touch tone. You’d dial the number then listen to it “click” out the digits. My parents had two landlined phones.. one in the kitchen, and one in their bedroom. And i think they were both rotary phones until about 1983-84..
Something else funny I remember from the early 80s: color toilet paper. I remember a lot of houses w/pink & yellow toilet paper (that matched the bathroom décor, etc). But I think the dye was determined to be bad for sensitive areas so it went extinct (?)
I don’t remember the colored TP.
Did that one also. But the invention of caller ID brought an end to that party. It was a service you had to pay for at the time.We did too. We would call and ask for Bob. And then do it again and and again. Finally we would call back and say, Hey this is Bob, Have I had any calls?
Lol I know right! It amazes me that we are still alive, I dug my old crib out of the barn a few years ago and stared in awe at where the mice had ate the wood all around the top of it. I showed Mom this and Mom said oh no that wasn't mice, That was you that done that when you were "teething". This crib was all lead based paint and I had ate an inch off the top side all the way around. lolAlso remember taking a trip to see relatives in Dallas, which is about seven hours from here. The parents were strapped for cash and the car had a 454 under the hood. So dad put a camper shell on his Toyota pickup, took the back glass out, laid a mattress in the bed, and us three kids laid on a mattress. Between that and 1/2 the adults smoking in the house, you have to wonder if they even liked us. Lol
Well, not all things. I still have a rotary phone on my landline but I also have my digital phone with caller ID. Life really is easier with the caller ID. I decide if I'm gonna answer or not! Or if I wanna mess around with a telemarketer! LOL And, if it weren't for technology, we wouldn't be here on this site! The good ole days SIGH!!!! Technology has taken all the fun out of things. lol
