• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I quit smoking yesterday at 12pm. Last night at Bible Study, hands were laid on me and everyone prayed. I have not had a craving since. My issue is I am exhausted because nicotine is a stimulate and that isn't getting put into my body. Any suggestion on what I can do to get my energy up? My husband won't be home tonight and I really want to start a Bible study that was given to me by a guy at church who does the study on Thursday nights but I can make it. I am hungry for God's word today but can't focus to read.

A healthy diet, in conjunction with working out, will do wonders for improving your energy and stamina. Try to steer clear of any foods with a lot of processed sugars, or are heavy in starches. Fruit and/or vegetables make a much more sustainable snack than junk food.

Well done Diana, i think if you get by a week, the next step is to go a further 2 weeks off it, then it should be easy after this. You will think to yourself, why did i start smoking in the first place.

DO NOT EVEN TAKE 1 !

I pray and support you for trying to stop smoking, well done for the progress you have made so far, we are all here for you!
