  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Luke 4 verse 18 "THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS UPON ME, BECAUSE HE HATH ANOINTED ME TO PREACH THE GOSPEL TO THE POOR; HE HATH SENT ME TO HEAL THE BROKENHEARTED, TO PREACH DELIVERANCE TO THE CAPTIVES, AND RECOVERING OF SIGHT TO THE BLIND, TO SET AT LIBERTY THEM THAT ARE BRUISED," verse 19 'TO PREACH THE ACCEPTABLE YEAR OF THE LORD."

Several years ago, the Lord spoke to me and told me to go to the smallest church in America (http://www.savannahbest.com/savhist/smallchurch.htm). I had been there in the past, and it was such a peaceful sanctuary in a busy and troubled world. People from all over the place would stop by, and many would leave written prayer requests. I would read through them, and pray for all these folks. It was a joy to be able to intercede for so many hurting people.

It was early afternoon on that day I went to that little church. I pulled up in the shaded parking area, turned off the engine to my car, and listened to the wind softly whispering through the tall live oak trees. I went inside the church, and stood behind the pulpit, and began to read the prayer requests. My heart started breaking as I read of the troubles, pains and sorrows written on those old notebook pages. I began to pray and the spirit of the Lord came down.

I then heard a vehicle pull up. I looked outside and it was a bus. Several people got out, and came inside where I was. I asked one of them, the group leader, who they were. She said the people were mostly special needs (they were adults) and they were on a group outing. I then told her how the Lord had lead me there, and that I was a preacher. She asked me to preach a short sermon. We sang a song, and I preached to a packed house at that little old church. It was such a special privilege and blessing to be used by the Lord to give those folks a message from him. They all listened intently, and said amens and praise the Lord. I know the Lord had sent me there at that specific time and date. He opened a door of ministry and brought the congregation that He wanted to be there.

Romans 10 verse 15 "And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THEM THAT PREACH THE GOSPEL OF PEACE, AND BRING GLAD TIDINGS OF GOOD THINGS!"
