I Need Your Prayers: Waiting for Marriage

Hello my brothers and sisters! I need prayer desperately..

Long story short, I am engaged to a kind, kind man. We have been together for over 18 months and have waited for marriage this whole time. But it is getting harder and harder...I am longing so very much to make love to him, and he longs very much for me.
We have 2 months to go; exactly, as of today. We are to be wed August 8th. I need prayer; I saw today that although I am doing the outward deed of sending him away after holding him, without going further, my heart is crying out after him and I plead with my eyes for him to stay. Yet he always goes; he has never once pressured me for more.
My heart is not in the waiting. ..I want it to be. I know; God has told me fully and clearly that He wants us to wait. And I promised him that we would.

Could you please pray for us? For my heart to soften, and stop clenching in despair? I want to be excited that we are going to be married so soon, not sobbing on the floor. Thank you...

Commit yourselves to a no touch fast for next two months.

Thank you for your prayers! I don't know if we could survive a no touch fast; I think that might cause more pain than necessary. But I do think we need to pull back a bit in our affections. In our excitement I do feel we have gone too far of late. Thank you.

Thank you! Your words feel like a warm hug. I will offer it to Him; I think I have been holding back of late, but my heart is softening even as I type this now. Thank you.

And we are actually already marrying sooner than we had initially planned exactly because of this pain. God already lessened our waiting time.

Yet I fear at the same time that continuing to wait, if I continue to do it in despair like this, and as though two people, one driving him away, and the other begging him to stay, is causing both him and me more harm than good.
So I think what I really need is a change of heart. A letting go of the pain, an unfurling of my clenched heart, a turning of my face towards God; I haven't been speaking with Him in this as much as I know I should.

However, if they cannot control themselves, they should get married, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion.

Thank you! We have prayed together on occasion, but I want to do it more regularly. Praying helps center us and remind us to be patient, and of course, to ask help from the Lord who is always willing to give it. Thank you again.

If you can restrict your meetings to outdoors, it will help. When you're together indoors, you might find it harder to refrain yourselves from touching and going further. Congratulations on your marriage
