  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'd say so, yes.

It really depends though on what it is. I typically only sell things on there nowadays where I can justify signed delivery postage on because I've had more than my fair share of "I didn't receive it" and then lost the claim when they get their money back and I get zip all.

is it worth it to sell things on Ebay?

Thanks.
That's how I accomplish my spring cleaning at a profit. ;)

Just make sure that you understand what your obligation is to paying eBay for those things you sell. Charge for the shipping and handling on your part especially. If you have to travel to mail the item pay yourself in that handling cost.

The best and cheapest way to insure you don't get ripped off by someone who posts a complaint that they didn't receive your package is to add a "Delivery Confirmation" sticker to the package. (LINK HERE)

This has a barcode attached that the post office scans to your shipping receipt. And when the person receives the package it is scanned again by the mail person delivering it.
That way if the person says they didn't receive the package, you have proof! Because the delivery was confirmed via the post office itself.

Best of luck to you.

Some of these well-established services will involve layers of fees. Listing, selling, payment processing, card acceptance, shipping, sales tax, customs, etc. On top of packaging materials and photography.

This site has fewer fees and complications:
Zibbet.com - Artisans, sell your handmade goods, fine art, vintage items and crafting supplies in our global marketplace

Craigslist has its ups and downs, and so far I've ended up giving away a lot when people offered to pay... long stories.

If you donate to non-profits, you can deduct the donations on your taxes for very reasonable value ranges (US). I found it's often worth more to donate than run around trying to sell little items.

I've tried to sell on eBay in the past, but have not had any luck doing that yet. I've also tried to sell things on Craigslist before as well. I've only had one thing on Craigslist as to date.

So far my attempts to sell on eBay or Craigslist have been dismal failures.
