• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

It's hard to help without specifics. It sounds as if something traumatic happened to you and you were numb for some time and now you are coming around to accepting that something terrible happened to you. What do you mean, breaking down all of the time?

Ask the Lord for clarity of mind, peace despite the storm, and His gracious strength. I promise He will give it to you. Lean on Him with everything you have. If you have something called Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, it can give you emotional and physical symptoms, like being restless, anxious, jumpy, unable to sleep or relax, recurring bad memories about what has happened to you, depression, not wanting to do anything . . .

If you can give some detail into your situation it might help others relate and give you advice.

You can make it, you really can.

it's initial!!! :)

When things happened to me and it all came back about 10 years later I went in to shock and was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stess Disorder (PTSD), my suggestion is you go and see a counsellor or if you can't do that you talk it thorugh with someone who has been there!! Keep on praying, you can do this and if you need to talk just PM me!! :D

To be more specific i was sexually assulted a year ago. I do see a counsellor. And what i mean by breaking down is that ill just be sitting there and all of a sudden its like a slap in the face that this actually happened to me when it could have been anyone else. Thank you for all the advice so far.
