I need some ideas please!

I am going to enter in a writing contest and need some ideas. I have never written a book like this before. Here is the web site so you can see how everything works. If you will, please tell me if you have any ideas on what the story should be about. And if you have younger siblings ask them what there favorite animal is or what you think a kids favorite animal would be ect. Thanks!

I could rattle off a few ideas, but the question is, would it be unique to you? If you're out of ideas, go to the park and watch the wild life there. Or, go to your local zoo and watch an animal that interests you. Then research the animal for facts about the behavior, and go from there.

Several years ago, like before Nintendo system came to the US, I wrote a simple story involving a koala bear for a city wide project. I won first place. My inspiration for it came from watching a kids show on PBS that was about Australia. One of the clips showed a koala bear falling into a river during a rain shower.

Unfortunately, my mind has become corrupted and lacks all forms of innocence. So any trip to the zoo or park to study an animal, will result in some dark comedy. e.g. Militant squirrels ambushing people in the picnic areas for their food.

I usually start with a sentence. If I can get a good first sentence I can get started, and that is the trick isn't it? Most of the time a good character name and his/her reaction to a situation.

Example:

George couldn't believe the leaves on his tree were turning yellow.

Something like that. The next sentence is up to you.
