I need reccomendations

Some are suggesting in our world that OCD is not a real illness but that its just made up by the psych community ...

can you reccomend websites that show that OCD has been scientifically proven to exist the same as heart disease or diabetes ,,,

I remember when I asked my doctor (she was christian i think) why am I having these thoughts,compulsions,obsessions. I remember her telling me that my dopamenes are out of wack.

The thing about psychology is, it is all about process of elimanations as to why we have this or what we have specifically. that is from what im told by doctors. That is why people get diagnosed in error constantly.

Im sorry if you took offense, I didnt mean it in a bad way.

It was just how your posted sounded like, like maybe there was a chance you are trying to prove weither this stuff is you or an illness.

It's not you, it is an illness. It's a physical problem in our brains. It has to do with seritonin. I take prozac to help with my out of whack brain chemicals. The therapy just tricks your brain into not caring about the stuck record in your head. They make a good combo to heal one's brain.

Don't take offense please but where is the proof that it is a chemical imbalance.. I mean just because a Dr says so does not make it so...
Where is the conclusive data that says yes this is in fact a chemecal imbalance ?

Even our PET scans look different than folks without OCD. Many areas of the brain literally show bright colors that those without OCD don't, on these scans. My doctor showed me pictures in a book for comparison. Prozac (and other drugs) would not help, if their wasn't a chemical imbalance either.

Could you're Doctor conclusively rule out any other legitimate cause for the the increased or decreased amount of activity shown by the color variation? This is a crucial question because for those scans to be conclusive evidence it would mean that under no other condition would the color variations appear.

What i'm getting at is how specialized are these scans ?

You will need to google it, or speak to a doctor to any more specialized answers. I can only tell you what I know.
