Hey everyone,

I was wondering if y'all, yeah I said y'all, deal with it! LOL I was wondering if you could help me with something. Are there any good books on Lutheran theology out there? I came across Melancthton's Loci Communes, but I was wondering if there were any others. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I just bought Systematic Theology by Wayne Grudem, but that promotes the Reformed view and I would like something that is partiuclar to Lutheran theology.

Thanks,

Mike

I have a friend who was raised lutheran, who has a book that explains in great depth the Lutheran theology, as well as how it compares to other doctrines on things like communion, etc. It is done from a Lutheran standpoint. I wish I knew what it was called. Anyway, I could ask her, and get back to you.
I was just looking at your signature picture and you and your husband both married headless people. So sorry :) Just joking.

Yeah, if you could find out the name of the book that'd be great! I'd really appreciate it. You rock either way!

Why isn't there a headbanging smiley here? LOL

Rad, they were young and in love. They clearly lost their heads and decided no one else could ever love them now that they had this, um, er, well, how do I put this, non-conformity? So they decided to get married to the only other person who would accept them for who they are. I think it's beautiful. ;)

How simple or how deep do you want these Lutheran theology books?
Lay it all on me sister! Let's see, I'm 5'10", so something that's a little less deep than that should be just fine. LOL

y'all is a perfectly acceptable form of the 2nd person plural. Its the english professors that are "behind" the curve. I mean, seriously, you for (singluar) AND you for (plural)? How dumb it that??? Y'all is necessary and it should be added to the dictionary, right along with ain't which is the only word you can successfully use as a double negative without reversing the negativity of it: "I ain't gonna do nothin!" is effectively the same as "I will do nothing", a sentiment expressed below as well:

Mat 21:25-32
(25) The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven, or of men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say unto us, Why did ye not then believe him?
(26) But if we shall say, Of men; we fear the people; for all hold John as a prophet.
(27) And they answered Jesus, and said, We cannot tell. And he said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.
(28) But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work today in my vineyard.
(29) He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went.
(30) And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.
(31) Which of the two did the will of his father?
They say unto him, The first.
Jesus saith unto them,
Amen I say unto you, That the publicans
and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.
(32) For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not; but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.

Let's hear it for doing the will of the Father!!!!!!!!

Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Are you one who said you'd go, and went not?
Or did you say you'd not go, then later repent and go?
