So I was raised a Jehovah's witness, I'm 21 years old and I've come to a point in my life where I need guidance, I want god in my life, I need god in my life but, I do not know which path is the correct path, basically a year ago I met a girl (she is Christian) long story short she exposed me to Christianity and we are now engaged, at first she would love to read the Bible with me, I learned a lot, with her and on my own, basically I need help finding the truth, with scriptures and prayer,

Welcome!

I'd recommend working through these sermons when you have an hour here or there.

As for what else you can do and what is always primary, reading Scripture. If you haven't already, begin in Matthew and work through the gospels.

A lot of people will tell you they're right, their church or denomination is right, but trust Scripture. It's right there for you to read :)

Prayer, in my experience, is something that will become more common and natural as you progress in your walk with Christ :)

I'd also say, you don't have to do the Christian thing alone. Try out a community or two and see if they're preaching truth. Maybe go to church with your fiancée and see how you find it. You don't have to figure it all out in isolation. :)

Sounds like you are here seeking, which is a good thing. What you need is Christ in your heart, then you will understand. Keep reading the Bible and pay particular attention to Romans 10:8-13. When you have read enough of the Bible or come to the point in your life that you start to understand, then you need to do something like what is said in the above scripture. Once you do this and ask him in your heart you are "Born Again", saved and God puts Jesus in your heart. From there you start your Christian walk and reading the Bible and praying...things for you will start to come into focus!

How many paths to God do you think there are? Jesus said he was the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no one comes to God the Father except through him. (Jn. 14:6) In saying this, he excluded all other paths. So, if you believe Jesus, there is only one path to God. It is a narrow and difficult path and few find it. (Matt. 7:14) Will you walk this path? It is the sole avenue to God. All other religions are false roads leading to destruction.

Do you have questions about Christ? If so, ask them and I (and others here on this site) will do my best to answer them.

Selah.

I recommend reading the Bible in this order:
Gospel of John
Ephesians
1 Peter
Philippians
Then other important books:
The rest of the New Testament
Old Testament books
Psalms and Proverbs as devotional books.

The more familiar you get with the Bible, the more comfortable you will be with truth.

Hi, B1823.

I think Paidiske gave good advice. You have the issue in mind, but you and she don't attend a church? None of them?

If that's so, I too would recommend finding a good one. That's where you will be informed and nurtured in the faith, find fellowship with other believers, and observe the ceremonies that come to us from Christ's own example, etc. You'll be on the right path.

I talked with a lot of Jehova's witness on the last forum I was on. I got to understand a lot of their doctrines.

The main conflict I found was they had trouble accepting what God has given his church, who are Christians. We are the bride of Christ.

I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him. - 2 Corinthians 11:2

It's pretty simple. We don't have to confuse this. Christ is our husband, because 2 Corinthians was written to people just like you and me. They weren't a special class of people. No, they screwed up and disobeyed God, had sin in their life, but loved Jesus anyway.

Sounds like you'll do fine. If you're humble, and believe God for wisdom when you read the Bible, God helps when you read scripture. And if you just believe what the Bible says, and don't try to confuse it up with what other people say, it pretty much sorts itself out in the end.

Romans has GOT to be high on the list. I don't mean to downplay the other writings in the NT, but idk where my faith would be without Romans. There is so much truth in that letter.

, I need god in my life but, I do not know which path is the correct path,

Lots of good advice here. Bust through all the confusion, pick up your Bible and read. I'd say do that first, develop at least a basic understanding on your own and praying for help with that understanding can't only help. Most of the basics of the Bible are pretty simple and should not be overthought. The actual path is in Gods word and can be taught to yourself. Then try to select a church if you want, one that teaches the truth the Bible gives you knowledge of. That's not to say you aren't already to the point of selecting a church of have to do it that way...just some steps I would advise.

Whatever Church you choose, at whatever point you choose it, just be sure to keep an eye on them in that that they are sincere and what they teach lines up with the actual word of God.

Hi, and welcome to the forum. This must be a confusing yet exciting time in your life, as you are searching and growing.

Your answers are not going to come overnight. This is going to take some study, because the JWs and Christianity are so similar that it is hard to discern the differences. It is also going to cost you, because unless I am mistaken, the JW's are going to give you a bit of grief for even asking questions, much less doing serious study.

If you are looking for the truth, you must first of all seek the Lord. You do this by going to him in prayer, and by going to his word. The next thing is that you have to be fair and reasonable, or you will be driven by emotions and ulterior motives. So if you have a question, go to both sides about it. If you talk to someone at the Kingdom Hall about something, then talk to a Pastor or Priest about it as well, and vice versa. Be prepared to attend both places.

As far as this forum goes, we could help you better if you asked specific questions. Is there anything in particular you have a question about?

The Lord be with you!

It is my assessment that this person needs more milk than meat right now.
