please pray that the Lord will provide encouragement for me. I just all of a sudden need encouragement and all your prayers for that. thanks.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

O Heavenly Father, my dear brother (or sister?) is in need of encouragement from You. Lord, I praise You for all the times that You have broken through the clouds that seem to cover me from time to time, and have shone the Light of Your love into my heart and I'm asking for that for my brother. Lord, for Your own glory, send a revelation of Your love and faithfulness to "prayingtogod". I'm asking Lord for a refreshing and a filling from on high, may it be as an overflowing cup!

One of our most important jobs as Christians is to provide prayer cover and encouragement to our brothers and sisters, and what a privilege it is at that.
I have no idea in what area you need encouragement, but may I say that it encourages me greatly to rememebr that no matter what things look like around us that our God is always in charge. This Scripture is a great encouragement to me.
Romans 8:28: "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."
Also the story of Peter walking on the water and how that when he took his eyes off Jesus began to sink, but when He cried out to Jesus just three words, "Lord save me", Jesus reached out and pulled Peter to safety.
These two things are a great encouragement and comfort to me. I hope they will comfort you as well.

Father, we thank You that You are such an awesome God. You are the beginning and the end. God, in You alone, everything we need is found.
We thank You for Your mercy and Your grace. We thank You that You are our light. You light the path so that we may see our way through the darkness. Lord, You've made the path straight so that we won't wander around in confusion.
Lord, I thank You that as prayingtogod keeps their mind on You that the discouragement and dispair will leave. You are a mighty God. There is nothing that You do not see. And You are ever-ready to come to the aid of Your children.
Thank You God for loving us so much. We really do appreciate it and we love You too.
