I need a rant!!!

hey everyone...
I have just had the worst week. I have been really sick with morning sickness/flu and i go to work on Thursday and my boss fires me...
I couldn't believe it.
I had been sick on and off for 2 weeks, the first week i was in hospital with bleeding and pain and then the second week i caught the flu. It really knocked me around.
My boss told me he thought i was a liar, and i wasn't actually sick, that i just wanted some time off... to bludge. Of course he said this just to me and not in front of anyone else, so it would be his word against mine if i were to do anything about it. I even have Doctors Certificates and he still thinks i am lying.
He then told me that i was no longer welcome in the store and that he didn't want to see me ever again. I was so angry... so angry.
Why do people have to be like that?

Oh my!!! Is that legal over there? That wouldn't be legal here ....

In the US morning sickness if it is diagnoised as Hyperemesis it is considered a diesease and you can not be fired beause of it. They made that a law a few years ago. It was copied from a law some other countries had. So if you want look into it. You may have legal standing.

The thing is, he officially fired me cause of having too many staff and the store not performing. Really makes me wish that i had a recording device with me in the room!!!
Ugh, oh well, there isn't much point in stressing over this.

I will try to find a job over the summer . Stores are always looking for people to work as Christmas Casuals, so i should get something...

If i really wanted to i could probably take him to court over it. But that would end up costing ALOT of money and take up a huge amount of time.
So i am going to let it slide. He is lucky though... soon his luck will run out when he does this to someone who does have the money and will take him on.

Oh and i have just applied for a job at a new baby store opening up near where i live.
Could you please pray that i get an interview??? I have previously worked in a different baby store, so i know i would be really good at this job!!!
I am actually excited about the thought of getting this job... i haven't been excited about work in a long time so i am really hoping i get this!

And that's the problem. To clarify for you US ladies, it is illegal to fire someone here for taking time off for pregnancy related stuff. But of course, it is legal to fire someone "because we are downsizing the company"

I just get so mad at him. We were quite close when i first started working there in 2004, we would hang out after work, i was friends with his girlfriend... And then he goes and treats me like this. Oh well if he is going to be like that i don't want him for a friend anyways!

I really hope i get an interview for this job. I don't need to have a job, but it would make things alot easier if i did have one. Ah well... its up to God now!

That's terrible. Sorry that happened to you! I know it's hard, but maybe it's good that you're not going to be working for someone who would treat you that way. I'll be praying that the right job opens up for you and that you feel better. I had awful morning sickness with both of mine, too, so I hope it gets better for you!!
