• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Hi Will ... I could hear the pain of all you have been thru. So sorry you have been thru all those things.
I was diagnosed with AS in my early 50s. I did have it as bad as you have, but I can look back over my life and see that God has helped find was to deal with the issues I have.
Sounds to me like you have made a lot of progress from your drinking days, so don't put yourself down. Rejoice in all you have learned. I know your going to figure out a lot more things over the years that will help you a lot.

Dear Will,
Thank you for making this video - it was so touching. I also have been recently diagnosed and have been struggling to find any Christian info or Christians like me to connect with. It is so freeing to know why my life was such a confusing mystery, and to no longer feel the shame I felt for not being able to connect with others, and reach others for Christ. Thank You God for giving me a wonderful, understanding husband.
I'm praying for you.

Hey, I'm one of the guys who commented on your video! You did perfectly fine. :)I enjoyed your honesty, and I could really identify with what you were saying about feeling awkward in church.

You might sometimes feel like you're not doing much, but you'd be surprised at how effectively God can use obscure, random "nobodies" sometimes! The Bible is full of them, you know. :amen:
