Amen. I’m so hopeful.
God bless him in his love!
Here’s the thing though… many on this board and every where says the Church must change. They are actively trying to make the Church conform to their image. I’m curious how he is going to handle that. I certainly hope he does not entertain it and cause confusion. There is no “otherness” in sincerely following Christ. The otherness comes from those that claim persecution from the Church and it’s usually because the things that have always been taught as sin are not viewed as sin by those claiming to be the “others”.
I swear every single quote I see from him is bang-on in orthodoxy. It's such a breath of fresh air to hear things that aren't just doctrinally sound but also very clear and concise. Zero ambiguity.
That's a great question. The progressive front (Rich Raho, Austin Ivereigh, etc) are lauding the Holy Father's supposed "commitment" to continuing Francis' vision and moving forward with the synodal way. Personally I think they may be both premature and overzealous in their celebrating, but I could be wrong. Maybe it's us trad/cons. Even if they're right, I don't think they'll be completely right, I expect the Pope Leo will take a much different approach to synodality, if that's possible. An approach that reinforces the hierarchy and pours some cold water on the ambitious laymen out there who are hungry to snatch power for themselves. Here’s the thing though… many on this board and every where says the Church must change. Trading up on past interview and addresses the pope has made appears that he is not as progressive as some claim. He is already being hijacked by secular media but I think they will find that it may not be as easy a task as it was with Pope Francis who had a real aversion to clarify anything. I’m just praying that Pope Leo has no issues with that. That was my main complaint with Pope Francis’ papacy. I want more attention paid to the flock and less to the world. Being a light in a dark world often comes with how a Shepherd cares for the flock and how the teaching of the Church are communicated to the world.I swear every single quote I see from him is bang-on in orthodoxy. Well said! Here’s the thing though… many on this board and every where says the Church must change. They are actively trying to make the Church conform to their image. It’s just manipulation watering down the Gospel imo.Well said!
Absolutely! Jesus's Kingdom is not of this world. It’s just manipulation watering down the Gospel imo.
We should still help where we can and be a light in a dark world bit people claiming otherness because we won’t preach another gospel is just pure deception. We were warned of it in Scripture.Absolutely! Jesus's Kingdom is not of this world.
Absolutely! St. Paul made that abundantly clear there is no other Gospel. We should still help where we can and be a light in a dark world bit people claiming otherness because we won’t preach another gospel is just pure deception. We were warned of it in Scripture.
Yes; and that's probably why Pope Leo has stated that even many baptized Christians are living in a state of "practical atheism".The otherness comes from those that claim persecution from the Church and it’s usually because the things that have always been taught as sin are not viewed as sin by those claiming to be the “others”.
I agree---it's such a breath of fresh air!I swear every single quote I see from him is bang-on in orthodoxy. It's such a breath of fresh air to hear things that aren't just doctrinally sound but also very clear and concise. Zero ambiguity.
