  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I know that no one probably cares but why does this bother me so much?

Hi, I like to sit in the front pews when possible. I don't like it when ANYONE is in front of me during Mass. Their heads are a distraction to me, lol. Seriously, I'm like that. However, in order to get to the front pew and when the Mass is drawing closer to starting, naturally more people are there and I have to walk in front of everyone and my brain is like "everyone is looking at meeeeeee....."

I know, they'll get over it but I don't look at anyone as I do all this.

I need assistance walking these days and have to sit in the first pew so the EMHC can deliver a Host to me. Getting there from the back of the church involves a cane and lurching from pew to pew for support. People sitting in the seat closest to the aisle are always startled when I lean on the pew, no matter how hard I try to pass quietly. Fortunately, that dance only happens once a month when the ensemble in which I serve gets a week off.

I always go to the Saturday evening Mass. It's not crowded. So I can sit in the middle and still have no one in front of me.
