I Know it Well

Do you know what it's like
To have your heart feel
As though it's been replaced
With an insatiable hole?
I know it, and I know it well.
I knew it the day your words fell
Upon my ears hard,
Such deafening sounds.
The only one I love
Returns not the emotion,
And I am cursed
For I cannot escape my own.
Love as a hopeless cause
Is a destructive force
Upon my every waking moment.
I have fettered myself, and I have not the key.

if this wasn't from your heart as exsperiance... *sniffle... then i'd be shocked.
a true poet writes from their heart....in your case his heart! keep writing.
