Hello, I just want to say that, I have returned form my parish picnic, and have spoken with parish priest about my concerns regarding my RCIA class. His reaction to my concerns was quite promising, still I would like you all to keep praying for a good outcome to all this.

What did he say? Was he not involved or aware what was going on in RCIA at all?

It was a lay person doing RCIA. The priest re-affirmed most, if not all, of the Authentic teachings of the Church. (there were a few things he couldn't comment on, on the grounds that he wasn't there.) He said he would talk to the RCIA instructor.

Please keep me updated. I'm very curious what becomes of this disturbing situation.

that is a good outcome! To know that your priest supports the authentic teachings is a good thing indeed.

one question....does your parish have a parish library where the members can check out Catholic books to read? If they don't that would be a good place to start making good Catholic literature available to folks.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind.

I would also like to hear the outcome. Hopefully he was not paying lip service.
agreed. It's very easy to work good Catholic doctrine into the weekly homilies, and thus educate the parish on what Catholics believe.
Also another idea (although I know it would load up his schedule) would be for your Priest to be the guest speaker at some of the future RCIA meetings. Our priest did that on 2 occasions for the RCIA this year, and boy did we learn a lot about the Eucharist from his first lecture.
His second lecture was for the subject of marriage and divorce; a good topic for those coming into the Church to know what the Church teaches, since it's so very different from what the world thinks.
