I just got suspended

Apparently I took some food on break and completely forgot to pay for it. He showed me on the camera and I'm watching myself do it and I'm just like "I'm so stupid, where was my mind this time?" Now they think I'm a thief and I'll probably lose my job. I submitted a statement and lots of people will back me up that I'd never steal, but the company will probably jump at the chance to ditch a full time person and replace me with a part-timer so as to not have to pay for the health insurance.

I've been working for like 3 years now and never had vacation time since I never stayed with one place for a year until now. Now I've got two weeks, and I was waiting until my boyfriend had his week so we could go to Gatlinburg, TN and just get away from this retail hell for a while. Now not only do I stand to lose my vacation but I might lose my health care too, which means I'll never get treated for ADD which is what caused this whole thing to begin with.

Sinking into despair, please pray. Thanks guys.

No word yet guys... he said it might take up to a week for them to let me know or not. It took them almost 3 I think when my manager got fired. I don't know how they can just leave people hanging like that when they might have plans they need to change (in my case, I need to know if I should book my vacation or not but it's leaning toward no due to lack of funds) but that's how it goes. They're not a very good company to work for.

I'm just enjoying some time off, which I've really needed for a long time. That at least, is a blessing. Trying to manage an understaffed deli when I have no management skills or experience whatsoever on top of having ADD was stressing me out beyond belief. I just feel bad because now they're even more understaffed :/

Stop beating yourself up about it. I made a few mistakes back when I was teaching that I thought for sure would make me lose my job, but God knew the truth and He let it be known to my boss.

Hi! I know what you are going through. You are suffering from ADD, plus with a lot going on in your life, and a lot of things on your mind, it is very easy to do something, "unintentional," just as in your case.

I went through a "somewhat" similar situation, but not job related.

It was with a very close Christian friend of mine. We were like "Sisters." Helping each other out. Praying together, etc.

Unintentionally, I promised to help her pay for her auto insurance, and totally forgot about it.

I had so much going on with my life at that time (My 91 year old Father came close to dying, was in the hospital, and had a pacemaker implanted - which save his life - thanks be to Father God!)

Unfortunately, my friend could not accept what I did to her. She thinks I did it intentionally, and has since broke up our friendship - which hurted me so painfully!:o

But, I have since accepted it, and pray for her everyday, that she will learn how to forgive, because she does have on-going issues in her own life.

I will be praying for you and your situation as well.

Father God, grant this sister of mine peace. Please show her if she is to stay here at this job, or that you will bring her a new job - a job that is even better than this one.

Also, I pray for her supervisors, that they will show her both compassion and forgiveness. For we all are human, and make mistakes, whether they are intentional or unintentional.

If we are "true Christians," we are to forgive (and forget) just as Jesus forgives US, when we fall.

And I ask for this special intention, in the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, AMEN!

Again, thank you all for your prayers and words of encouragement. I'm still waiting on a call. But by now I think I'm at peace with the possibility of losing my job, even with the vacation. I need to get the heck out of there anyway, it's sucking the very life out of me because my natural inclination is to work hard, but I also am very good at standing up for myself when I believe I'm being taken advantage of. So it's a constant battle between "Ok, let's try and get this place whipped into shape!" and "Man, forget it. If they can't bother to pony up the dough to get us some help then why should I do the work of 5 people and get paid the wage of one while some rich jerk pockets the difference?"

It really is taking a toll on me, and I don't like the person I become when I'm stressed out from working there. I find myself hating the management for being greedy, and hating our customers for making more work for me to do.

What I need is to find a better place for me to work... one where I can be happy and just work hard at my job. I'm tired of busting my butt doing retail stuff when I feel I could be doing something that actually makes a difference, or that I feel called to do. It's like I'm wasting my time or something. I've had a feeling all along that God has me there for a reason, though, even though the work is ultimately meaningless, and once I've learned whatever lessons He has in store for me then I will be allowed to move on.

I'm just going to try to be at peace, and wait. I need to convince my boyfriend to do the same, as he's getting angrier and angrier that they're just leaving me hanging and I can tell he's starting to worry about the lack of income. I'm going to put some applications in to some places nearby that I can walk to (not having to pay for the bus will partially make up for me dropping from full time work to part time, which is probably all I'll get hired for) so as to put his mind at ease.
