It is not about the effect that taking out prayer or anything religious affects our schools or society. However, I would like to know can students still pray, pass out tracts, site the Pledge of Allegiance in full without controversy, or form worship groups? I would like to read and hear that opinion. Sometimes though these things happen, the media tends to skew or tell the news with a lack of objectivity and I was wondering this. I was a substitute teacher and I remember the Gideons passing out New Testaments to students. I am not being nostalgic, but I am wondering do Gideons pass out bibles at your school or have they stopped doing that? I know they still say the Pledge of Allegiance with the words "under God" in it, but I think it is so sad that some people are so PC that those two words would offend them yet they have cameras and security guards in elementary schools. I am not saying that life was totally easy back then, but I am wondering if things have really changed and if so, how much? There was still "discrimination" and "controversy" back then and there were school shootings and crime back then. (I'm thinking of the movie "Lean on Me" as proof.) But is there really more discrimination against Christians now compared to maybe decades ago or has it been exaggerated?
