I have been falsely accused

hi all!

i was on a VERY NON-Christian message board and I was asking alot of questions about well known to the pubic person. Anyway, to my knowledge I really thought that this message board was created for that very purpose. Anyway, this one nasty person accused me of being something that i am 100% not!!!! I feel really sick now and I feel like crying. Anyway, here is what I did, i went to that message board and deleted all of my post that pertains to this well known person, why cause I do NOT like to be harassed and called something that is completely opposite of me! I feel like I am gonna get sick because of this libelous accusations that were made against me. I reported this person immediatly but usailly the mods there say put this person on ignore. they are not nearly as kind as the mods here!
Anyway, has anyone ever had to deal with this situation like this one? If so could you please give me some advice!

A side note: I wish that some people would learn that the internet should not be a place where as they go out of their way to deliberately try to hurt others. It is simple, if you do not like that person just do not post!!! And a word to anyone who is ""rookie" to CF, this place is probably one of the safest places to be because of the moderation staff!!!! And the members here seem to be alot more kinder to others!

smilingheart, there are so many different types of people on the internet. Some are out there to engage in genuine conversation, while others are out there to cast their judgments and accusations on others. Seems like you ran into one of the latter, and unfortunately it happens all too often, even on CF sometimes.

Please don't take offense to it, whatever the insult was. You seem like a very sincere person to me, so it obviously wasn't deserved.

aw, dont let someone falsely accuse you. I've had that a couple of times on message boards. I got [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]ed mostly. I wouldn't let them get to you.
Don't feel upset. You know they are wrong, and so do we!

My best advice is maybe leave the board. You don't need or deserve to take such pain from people you don't know. And if some people aren't giving you an issue, maybe get their emails or something so you can stay in contact with them.

I am so sorry this has happened to you sis I know through sore experience that the net is knee deep in mean people who seem to get some sort of sadistic pleasure in hurting others. Sad to say even some Christians don't care whether they hurt you or not. I have been accused of not being a Christian by some "Christians" online just because I did not 100% agree with them or I did not attend the "right" church. That is really hurtful, believe me. I've even found that there are some sections of this board that I have to keep away from because certain people frequent them who pride themselves on "telling it like it is" even if it means hurting us more sensitive souls. I'm so glad Jesus is not like that.

Eh there, thank you for your advice...and you are right, that is EXACTLY what I did...left that message board. Even my therapist tonight said that was the best thing to do.... CF seems like a decent place!
