  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I have a question about the rep threads

If I post in any of the rep threads, do I need to give reps to the person above me? That includes the threads that are "sticked" at the top of page. Sometimes, I run out of reps or don't realize I have ran out of reps until I post.

I don't want to break any rules in the rep games.

Its ok StrawberryShortcake2, I think we have all been guilty of that occasionally, it usually balances out and no harm is really done. Besides, you can always go back to your post and edit to explain that you are rep dry and will be back after you reload.

Hope this helps ease your concerns. :)

Take care

Not to worry, you do not have to rep the one ahead of you. I do not think we have any rules do we? Nah.

Hi there SSC

What I usually do if unsure....I rep the one above me and the one who's started the thread. If I happen to run out of reps -- I send blessings instead and explain the poster what has happened. That's me anyway :)

Reps are voluntary unless you enter an agreement to rep someone. Repping others in the thread is cool but there are lots of threads and folks here and I'd hate to limit the fellowship for lack of reps.

It's much more than giving reps: we fellowship too - we beg for reps (the more shameless the better) - we pray for each other

As far as who to rep - if the thread is one of those "rep the 4 above you" sort of thread then that's the appropriate thing to do. In the general threads it's up to you.

I tend to look the last couple of pages of a thread over - I try to rep those who don't have a star first, then I rep those who are close to a 2nd/3rd star (you get the idea), then I rep those who I promised reps to when I was out, then I rep as many as I can with whatever remains.
