This has been happening for several nights now. Every evening, as I say my prayers before going to bed, I keep having these awful negative thoughts. I won't go into detail as to what these thoughts are, (they're not serious but, it's best that you not know what they are) but for now, let's just say, that ever since my bad childhood, I've had a hard time trusting people. Please pray for me.

That happens to me sometimes, usually if I had a bad day, it takes longer for me to clear my mind to connect with God. Something I found that clears negative thoughts, is to say something like this: I rebuke any thoughts that aren't of God out of my mind, spirit body and soul, I rebuke them in the name of Jesus. Say it in an audible voice and mean it, I think it could work for you too. I prayed for you...

Do not pay attention to bad thoughts, they are like "voices". They might come from brain background noise.

try asking God to grant you the gift of discernment when it comes to people. But along with discernment also ask for charity.
That's important, because while having the gift of discernment (the gift that Saint Padre Pio had) will tell you what's happening in those people's life, the gift of charity will allow you to see them as God sees them--with love and compassion.
