I've had a pain in my left side that has come and gone since i had my little boy nearly two years ago - i'm pretty sure its from where they sewed me back together after my c-section. However the last few days it's been hurting pretty much whenever i'm doing anything on my feet. I'm 17 weeks along and i don't see the midwife until i'm 28 weeks. Any ideas or should i bite the bullet and book an appointment with my doctor to check it out? I'm a bit worried that i'll just be told it's nothing and i'll be so embarrassed!

Definitely see your doctor if you have any concerns...trust me that's what they are there for and a good dr will never tell you that you shouldn't have come in that it was nothing. They are there to make sure all goes well with your little one and you. Call and see your dr then if it's nothing at least you know it's nothing and you won't have to worry.

Oh my goodness CBG, we're due at the exact same time! Cool!

I'm in the same boat, sometimes when I cough, roll over in bed, or get up off the couch too fast I'll get a shooting pain down around the level of my scar... I think it's just the ligaments stretching though, cause I think I remember a similar feeling from last time too. Only then I didn't have a previous surgery to be freaked out about.

Absolutely ask your doctor about it if it's bothering you. And be careful to make sure you're eating right! My midwife told me that nutrition seems to have a direct link to whether the scar on your uterus stays good and strong, or gets stretched thin. I know how hard it is to focus on your own diet when you've got a family to think about. A daily chart on the fridge really helps me to make sure I'm eating enough of what I need.

Thanks - the pain has gone for now. Just had my 20 weeks scan and everything normal. I see my doctor in a couple of weeks so unless the pain comes back before then i'll just mention it when i go.

that's interesting to note - i am trying to eat well but i still have morning sickness that gets worse when i eat so i'm not actually eatingmuch generally
