Grr............It's supposed to be christian, but the spritual atmosphere there isn't much better than some other state university! The profs can be very negative about you being able to pass. The tuition is twice as much, it isn't worth it! They are even more strict than the private school I was in before! You get 3 absenses then everything you miss becomes a zero! I hate it! I think I will be transfering come fall when I found out where my bf is going. I had more reasons but I forgot them for now! Grrr.........Thanks for letting me vent! I've only been in 2 weeks and I hate it this much! only 12 more weeks to go until this semester is over!
First - how do you define "Christian college"? What exactly are you looking for when you say "spiritual atmosphere"?
There are a lot of Christian colleges and they vary quite a bit. Some have loads of rules and regulations and some have very few. Perhaps you did not check out the rules at Northwestern fully before you decided to enroll there. How has the college failed to live up to you idea of what a Christian college should be? The problem here may not be that it's a bad college, but that you didn't pick a college that fits you well.
3 absenses before you get zeros? What a joke! Why are you bothing to be in college if you don't want to attend class?
You knew the cost of tuition when you enrolled. If tuition is too high for you, and you still chose to go, then you made a poor choice. Don't blame the college for that decision.
Ah! Waiting to see what your boyfriend is doing? Perhaps this is what is really driving your thinking?
Look, if you reallly hate the school, drop out
now. Your parents can still get a lot of their money back. But before you re-enroll anywhere, try and figure out what you want out of college and why you are bothing to go. If you are going to finish the semester, then change you attitude and get to work. You have only given this two weeks!
The transition to college life is a major one and it isn't always an easy one. Chances are you don't have any real friends yet and everything is new - where you eat, sleep, where you are, who you are with, the level of work and study... Give yourself some time, and give the college some time, too. You hardly know it at all!
