At 19 I thought I knew how easy life was too-- then I was humbled.

I never said life was easy. Just that people (all kinds of people, not just those looking to get married) ought to play a more active role in improving their lives. They should get up off their duff and work for what God wills (but still spend the remainder of their time on their knees!).

wow you guys are blowing me away!!! this is great stuff...Blessed Journey i am so sorry to hear that you went through a divorce...and i know tha God does draw us closer to Him in these times (Romans 5) also we should have more of this open, and honest conversations...so many chrisitans try so hard to be "perfect" (myself included) that we forget what is important...our relationship with God...i think many turn away from the church because they just can't measure up to be "perfect" and are ashamed but that is silly we all sin...I like to remind myself of Jesus and the people he talked to and spent time with...none of them were perfect they had a range of "faults"...we should embrace everyone and accept that we are not perfect and that we will make mistakes but we are all on the journey to developing a deeper and stronger relationship with God...Blessed Journey you rock!!! and smokkie22 welcome it's good to have you around i think Alex has a great stroy to tell...God must be developing a true heart of Mercy in that boy...in time..what a blessing for him!!

Abandoning one's moral code isn't that simple. If Alex is truly a Christian person, he will stay that way no matter what. If he's not a Christian person, his time here was an abberation.

Perhaps God is helping him by getting him off of the internet & having him participate in the real world.

Yeah but whether you're Christian or not, you're bound to go through some rough times, the question is how you deal with it.

Has anyone heard anything from Alex? I haven't heard from him for a while....I am little concerned about what he wrote. This is an excerpt from his livejournal

According to Gabby Einam, Stuartholmes and Brigidine are at a bibical war

and this

But as the bus carrying the army of Stuartholmers arrived I felt like

I am confused at this - what the heck is Stuartholmes? Are they a militia group or something?

hey smokkie i have passed on a couple of emails from others to Alex but i havent' heard from him since last night i think we have to trust that he is in the Lords hands and pray for him...beyond that i guess we can stay in touch with him and if he wants our support then be there for him and thanks for saying

you are spot on with that and we all need to not feel so alone as well...satan loves it when a christian feels alone and isolated...not a nice place to be...Alex is one of God's children just as important as each of the rest of us...he deserves as much love and attention as anyone else...if you hear from him let me know smokkie

Thus reads Alexander's LiveJournal: "I have sent a warning to God, that if He breaks my heart one more time and leaves me for dead, He will lose me as His child as I make the decision to renounce Catholicsm and become a materialistic Atheist."

Holding God for ransom is never a wise policy... and there is no such thing as warning God. What does he need from us? How could we hurt Him? Only by sinning against Him, and both rejecting Him entirely and embracing Him only for personal gain are sin.

Well, that isn't going to fly. God is supposed to be put above everything else. When a person starts threatening Him about something they want, that's putting something else above God in their mind. "____ is more important to me than God. If I can't have ____, then I won't love God anymore." <--- God's not going to like that very much.

Alex will figure it out, one way or another. Sounds like he is leaning towards finding out the hard way. I'll pray for him.

One of the best words of advice given to me by a close friend were: "Stop TELLING God..." Basically, she noticed a tendency in me to TELL or DEMAND to God what *I* thought, wanted, etc.

God is sovereign. He can do whatever He wants. The sooner we Christians realize this, we will have more contented and peaceful, although not necessarily trial-free or easy, lives.

When Satan tempted Jesus in the desert, demanding that He throw himself off the temple to prove that angels would protect Him, Jesus replied: You shall not put the LORD your GOD to the test" (Matthew 4:7).

Our brother has fallen to Satan's deception. We must simply pray for him and hope that, in time, He will come to a full understanding of God's sovereignty.

I feel sorry for you, Alex. Those quotes that you posted there-it seems that one of the ideas is that everyone on this Earth isn't meant for anybody to settle down with, and that some people don't get mates because of God's will. I really really REALLY beg to differ...for realz...

I think everyone has a soulmate. And I mean everyone-I say this because of the plethora of knowledge I have acquired from listening to shows like Coast To Coast AM, watching and hearing about Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer and ppl like that and reading material as such.
If a person believes, then they can find their soulmate...

Again, I am sorry you didn't get ur all out of the faith...
Quite frankily, I'd be darned and down in the dumps if I found out noone was meant for me...most likely
