Bush raises terror fears in Obama handover period

"President George W Bush has warned America that the nation faces economic and military challenges that "will not pause" to let his successor settle in.


As he signaled a changing of the guard with a speech on the White House lawn yesterday, Mr Bush said he would hold talks on key issues with president-elect Barack Obama next week as his administration goes into overdrive to ensure a seamless transition of power to his Democratic successor.


Mr Obama and his wife, Michelle, will visit the White House on Monday at the invitation of President Bush.


Mr Bush told a gathering of hundreds of employees from the presidential office: "This will also be America's first wartime presidential transition in four decades. We're in a struggle against violent extremists determined to attack us, and they would like nothing more than to exploit this period of change to harm the American people."

I find it amusing that the rumor-mill had Bush going to Iraq to steal all of their oil -- then when that didn't happen -- silence.

Then Bush was supposed to end elections and make himself king before November -- but when that didn't happen --- silence.

And we keep hearing -- well maybe he still has a chance to be dictator... yet instead of that - he is pulling Obama into the inner circle to make sure Obama has no "excuse" when he takes over -- and even THIS is spun around to "not going to hand over the chair"???

When does it ever stop? When does it swoop down to ground level for a dose of reality?

He has had a chance to be a dictator look at the patriot act, of course congress needs a shellacking for passing it as well. An American can be arrested and detained without seeing a judge...

Excellent point Catlover. An American can also be held "indefinitely" without any charges by simply being declared an "enemy combatant."

If sabbartarians are in no way concerned about the ability to lock-one-up-and-throw-away-the-key in light of all that is taught in the Scriptures regarding the Roman church/state conglomeration, the image of the beast and the mark of the beast then I really don't know what to say.
