• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

    If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

    If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. I feel like I'm more and more afraid of things. I feel like I'm losing things I enjoy, because I'll always find a reason it's wrong in some way. I'm living in constant anxiety, worried about one thing or another. "Your favorite book has people swearing in a made up language, don't read it. That music sounds kinda new age, don't listen to it. Get rid of your ninja turtles action figure because they did ninjitsu in the show. When taking photos of scenery or whatever, make sure no one in the photo has an offensive shirt on."

Just, obsessing over everything. Part of it feels like being able to look through the lens of my faith and see that some things are bad, but part of it feels like I'm just sitting in a well of anxiety, over thinking everything.

I felt I was regressing as well because I was constantly battling these intrusive thoughts but I feel I have made a breakthrough by simply ignoring them. Let them just come and vanish like a puff of smoke, don't pay any attention to them if you know they are not from your heart or God.
