I'm afraid not. While trying to live, nearly died at God's hand, twice. Was delivered. When asked to die, I was caused to live. When I want to die I find myself surrounded by people who want me to live, and when I want to live, everyone seems to want me to die.

Just live, eventually you'll have your fill and it won't matter so much either way.

Can I request God to transform my body to be immortal and take me to Heaven straightaway?
I am afraid of death.

Well considering the season, you might have your prayer answered, we might be in the generation that will not pass away before all things are fulfilled.

although to be fair, many generations have thought that this would be the time in which Jesus would return, and they'd skip death.
But for some people that gives them a good outlook on life, believing that Jesus could come back in their lifetime.

@LayHong_Loves_Christ, when you are a Born-Again Christian, you do not belong to yourself any more.
Your life, times, appointments, missions, etc. all belong to Jesus.
It is possible to do foolish things that might shorten your life, but (barring that) when it is time to die, God will help you through that time.
(He will still help you with a foolish death, too, but it is less than ideal.)

Well, you can make the request - God is not going to punish you for asking - though granting it is a far different matter. In the whole recorded history of mankind, only two people never experienced death - Enoch and Elijah, and I highly doubt such a thing will happen again until Christ's second coming.

That being said, is there a particular reason why you are so afraid of death, even after knowing that, in Christ, we already have a certain hope of resurrection - of a better and more glorious life beyond this one (1 Corinthians 15)?

In my experience where I've felt dread on the prospects of death, and it usually boils down to three reasons: 1) I'm afraid that death (or the process of dying) will be painful, 2) I'm afraid that I might not be saved, 3) I'm afraid that I can no longer enjoy some of the things I've loved in this life. Try to spend some time wrestling with God about some of these deeper issues (e.g. the problem of pain, the doctrine of salvation, the hope of heaven) instead of letting yourself be oppressed by a vague sense of anxiety. I cannot say I've completely made peace with some of these struggles, but rest assured that God is good, and He is faithful to His promises, and that whatever He does in this life or the next, it will always be consistent to His character.

I am afraid of death.

I understand how you feel. I was so afraid of death for most of my life until God took my brother , grandson and son and close childhood friend home the last 3 all within 2 years.
God then showed me in unexplainable ways that this life is not where we belong and how exciting and comforting it is to know that when its our time we are immediately home where we are complete and free, with God .
Sometimes I get a strange dread like homesick feeling in my gut, lasts only a moment but I wonder at times if its my spirit reminding me that my safe place isn't here its with Jesus in Heaven.
I dont want to experience dying either but I look forward to what comes after it. I also know that God is with us and it will probably be a moment focused on him with him not on the event.

What are you afraid of about death? A moment and then you are with Jesus. Think about what death will bring. What's to fear? Tell us so we can understand your fear.

Seems to me that when the OP is asking to be directly translated, he's not afraid of what happens AFTER death, but rather the dying process.
I can understand that fear, nobody really wants to die of cancer over a long period of suffering, or even in a shorter period of suffering nobody wants to die violently. Everyone would rather die in their sleep, or something quick where they're dead before they feel it.

God didn't promise that death would be painless for us, and most people don't like suffering.

I have no confidence I have spirit, maybe I will die and forever vanished.

Or, maybe I'm wrong..
THAT fear is a faith issue.
and that frankly, I'll pray for you to have increased faith.

But do you believe that Jesus was resurrected from the dead after being crucified?
Jesus' resurrection, is the proof that #1, His sacrifice for us was accepted by God, and #2, that life does continue after physical death.

Now we won't be resurrected 3 days after we die, I understand that.. but the Apostle Paul tells us this in 2 Corinthians 5

4 For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.
5 Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.
6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

and Philippians 1
21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
22 But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not.
23 For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:

In death, you depart to be with Jesus in heaven, until His return.

I have come close to death more than once, having had a heart attack and two strokes. Such experiences change you and if you were already a Christian before, you will become more serious about your Christianity afterwards. In my case I became much more focused upon exactly what the scriptures have to say on those really important issues and I realise how important Jesus Christ needs to be to me.

When you are younger, you tend to think that life goes on forever, but after you have needed hospital treatment to save your life, your mindset changes and you start getting really serious about Jesus Christ. This does a lot to change your understanding about facing death and going to be with Him. Don't forget that those who truly love the Llord, have an eternal destiny to be His bride and He is the King of the whole universe, how wonderful is that!

We also get new and glorified bodies and my own body having been wrecked by a stroke, I'm really looking forward to getting a body which works properly. Paul the apostle tells us that to die is gain and when this happens we shall be changed to be like Him and we shall see Him face to face and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Don't we have something glorious to look forward to! This world is broken and is passing away, but we are not part of it and we get to escape to a blessed eternity.

That's true, but not only that, that same great love will change each one of us into those who are so totally His that we can't wait till that day when we see Him face to face and death is swallowed up in victory.

Fear of death is caused by sin .. Jesus came and died to:

"and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery." (Hebrews 2:15)

Please read Hebrews 2:14-18 - Hebrews 3:1-6 (read all of that as one reading). These passages end with:

"And we are his house, if indeed we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope in which we glory." (Hebrews 3:6)

Your lack of confidence is telling you that you're missing something quite essential in your faith in Christ, so it is you who must seek what your missing. Scripture tells us that when we seek with our whole heart and soul, we will find Him and His truth..

Jeremiah 29:13
"You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart"

Do you think that it is only you who struggles with trusting God for difficult things? All of us struggle with something and we need God's help when we find ourselves of too little faith for some things.

(Mark 9:23 and Mark 9:24) Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord I believe: help thou mine unbelief.

God still hears us when we struggle and ask Him to help our unbelief, when these things are too much for us. He knows that we are but dust.

"Everybody wants to go to heaven but nobody wants to die" is a saying I heard a long time ago. I don't want to die either but I will. I find some peace in knowing it happens to everybody no exceptions. So I look at it as the price we pay for the life we've been granted. If we are lucky we get to live for decades. Even if we died and went to nothingness, I would be grateful for this life on Earth.

You can ask for whatever you want. Its between you and God. Or, you can ask God to take away your fear.

But from your post I suppose you are not afraid of death, but of (possibly painful and ugly) process of dying, right?

You can influence that significantly by your lifestyle.

I have had a heart attack and still get angina pain in my chest at times. Angina is one step away from another heart attack. Does this bother me? Of course it does, but who else should I trust and depend upon when this happens. I don't want to die before my time, I also fear God more that dying. There's not a lot preached about the fear of God these days, but when you've had a heart attack and two strokes like me, the fear of God becomes very real.

To come face to face with something which nearly kills you. changes your perspective completely concerning these things. It is only a saving knowledge of Him, that will count for anything on that day, when I pass from this life and stand before him. I need to be right with Him when that day comes! God does not let us choose how, or when we will die, these are things which He alone chooses. Whether short or long, our lives are to glorify Him and to fullfill His purposes.
