I dont feel anything!

have you ever gone to a church and everybody is nice. And everybody there is saying that the presence of God is strong... Or they feel the glory...you see people falling when prayed for and people that look like they are really focused on God...

But you dont feel anything? Not you dont ever feel anything...or you feel God once a month... You feel His presence almost everyday! You can enter in whenever... But at this service when everybody seems or says they are you arent!!!

Any ideas????

Been there, done that. Feelings are very subjective. Kind of like foods. Each person's experience is different. But, yeah, sometimes I wonder if my "receiver" is functioning or not. Or if the guy next to me is "normal".

Oh, I don't deny emotions and affections are involved when dealing with God. I like things that Jonathan Edwards says. But just because you walk in a church and don't feel anything doesn't necessarily mean something is wrong.

I agree, and that includes outside church , He is always there.
But you don't always feel His presence.

Yeah. This. I used to wonder what was wrong with me. It really bothered me -but I'm not about to fake anything. I have had too many years of spiritual abuse to overcome to try that again. Then I had two separate horrible horrible days in one week when I couldn't feel Jesus. Someone explained to me that it was an attack of the enemy and what to do about it.

It wasn't until I couldn't feel the presence of God that I realized that I usually feel Him all the time.

My emotional reactions are often out of sync. with the crowd. I even have dreams about being in the same place as others, but I'm on a different day, sometimes earlier, sometimes later. Apparently it's another intercessor thing. My friend experiences this too. Everyone else seems to be full of joy and she'll be agonizing in prayer over something. Sometimes she'll be upset and call me up and say, "What's wrong?" I just felt an urgent need to pray for you." I say, "nothing" -and then the crisis will occur three days later. But she has already prayed about it, so it's all good. It can be a bit annoying though when a group of people are weeping in repentance -and she's full of joyous anticipation and just praisin' away.

She's actually really cool -and God is soooo good.

We march to the same Drummer -just not at the same time. lol.

It is what it is. Let God's Presence exist with you and comfort you as He wills.

Can we chase Him? Yes.
Does He like to be caught? Yes.
Are there times when He plays hide and seek? I believe so.

Merin, we are in the latter days of perilous times, and today's Church is so seduced and deceived that they wouldn't know what is the presence of the Holy Spirit or an unholy spirit.

The false teaching that has been going on for the past few decades have disensitised the spiritual gifts through allowing many false practices and other religion's practices into their churches.

As one said to look up, because HE is our Almighty God, our Lord Jesus Christ.

Churches today are all about getting bums on seats, hands in your pockets, and teach a new age gospel that makes the comfort zone feel comfortable.

HE will give your your heart's desires, and if they want to fall down and claim that the Holy Spirit did that, then HE will allow them to think that. If your heart's desires is all those things that are the desires of those who seek whatever they can get.

When you praise and worship our Lord Jesus Christ, HE will touch you, and you don't need all this falling down and cackling to know our Lord Jesus Christ. I would say for one certainity that HE isn't an embarrassing God.

Be aware, beware, and don't be unaware of all the falseness that is going in the Body of Christ these days. Keep your eyes open!

I've had this problem to, I would come out of Church with the mentality of I didn't get nothing from the service today.

Then as a Church, we done the 40 days of purpose, and the only part that really struck me and stuck with me is the chapters on going to Church.

It mentioned the above, and then reminded us that we go to Church not for us but as a worship to God, to thank him for what he has done this week and will be doing.

Going to Church expecting to receive nothing, but to thank God for what he has done, in reality means I find myself receiving more because not looking for the big thing means I have found some of the smaller things.

the pastor touched on this very thing this morning - when we are in church it is to praise and worship God. He ministers to us all the time and our praise and worship time is for us ministering back to him.

Why would God want you to feel His presence every time you went to church? If He allowed that I think it would make one very spiritually crippled and of no use to God outside of the church building.

My theory is that God guides our development by allowing us to sense His spirit and by allowing us not to. This is part of the process to take us to the point in our walk with Him to where we know, by no means other than His promise that He is with us and we are with Him 24/7. And we are content with that.
