In light of recent weeks of this Foru.ms' controversies gave me rude awakening, especially from some fellow conservatives. I was getting too restricted to various "agendas" and forgetting God's main purpose. J. I. Packer has warned us that in the Battle for the Biblethe danger operates, that the folk engaged in the battle will just concentrate on the battle and never think of the issues for the sake of which the battle is being fought.
I love being conservative and still a conservative. I am more of a "theological conservative". I want to stay away from politically conservative. Learning from this Foru.ms' political issues has got me thinking that such politics and controversies have brought in the darkness that people cannot see the light.
Jesus said "My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence" (John 18:36). Christ have not given us a political agenda, but a spiritual mandate to proclaim the Gospel and disciple the nations (Matthew 28:19-20).

2239 It is the duty of citizens to contribute along with the civil authorities to the good of society in a spirit of truth, justice, solidarity, and freedom. The love and service of one's country follow from the duty of gratitude and belong to the order of charity.
