• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I am tired of living in a trailer and having a $300.00 gas bill a month and wasting rent money.

I am tired of lviing with an alcoholic who is not interested in me, except for "activities" that are fit for me.

I am tired of working at jobs that I HATE just to have food on the table.

I am tired of not even having money to go get a new shirt, or a new pair of jeans.

I am tired of not having a church to go to.

I am tired of my mother-in-law not minding her own darn business.

And most of all, I am just TIRED of being TIRED all the time.

Please pray for me because I really need the encouragement.

Hang in there sister. Endure! "Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us." "All things work for the good of those who love Him" "Count to all joy when you fall into various trials"

Hang in there! God's using this to make your faith grow. Rely on the LORD. "Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and then all these things [money, etc] shall be added unto you." 'His grace is sufficent for thee." Praise the LORD!

Faith
Christian
He is the First and Last, the Beginning and the End!

He is the keeper of Creation and the Creator of all!
He is the Architect of the universe and
The Manager of all times.
He always was, He always is, and He always will be...
Unmoved, Unchanged, Undefeated, and never Undone!
He was bruised and brought healing!
He was pierced and eased pain!
He was persecuted and brought freedom!
He was dead and brought life!
He is risen and brings power!
He reigns and brings Peace!
The world can't understand him,
The armies can't defeat Him,
The schools can't explain Him, and
The leaders can't ignore Him.
Herod couldn't kill Him,
The Pharisees couldn't confuse Him, and
The people couldn't hold Him!
Nero couldn't crush Him,
Hitler couldn't silence Him,
The New Age can't replace Him, and
Donahue can't explain Him away!
He is light, love, longevity, and Lord.
He is goodness, Kindness, Gentleness, and God.
He is Holy, Righteous, mighty, powerful, and pure.
His ways are right,
His word is eternal,

His will is unchanging, and
His mind is on me.
He is my Redeemer,
He is my Savior,
He is my guide, and
He is my peace!
He is my Joy,
He is my comfort,
He is my Lord, and
He rules my life!
I serve Him because His bond is love,

His burden is light, and

His goal for me is abundant life.
I follow Him because He is the wisdom of the wise,
The power of the powerful,

The ancient of days, the ruler of rulers,
The leader of leaders, the overseer of the overcomers, and

The sovereign Lord of all that was and is and is to come.
And if that seems impressive to you, try this for size.
His goal is a relationship with ME!

He will never leave me,

Never forsake me,

Never mislead me,

Never forget me,

Never overlook me, and
Ever cancel my appointment in His appointment book!
When I fall, He lifts me up!
When I fail, He forgives!
When I am weak, He is strong!
When I am lost, He is the way!
When I am afraid, He is my courage!
When I stumble, He steadies me!
When I am hurt, He heals me!
When I am broken, He mends me!
When I am blind, He leads me!
When I am hungry, He feeds me!
When I face trials, He is with me!
When I face persecution, He shields me!
When I face problems, He comforts me!
When I face loss, He provides for me!
When I face Death, He carries me Home!
He is everything for everybody, everywhere,

Every time, and every way.
He is God, He is faithful.
I am His, and He is mine!
My Father in heaven can whip the father of this world.

So, if you're wondering why I feel so secure, understand this...
He said it and that settles it.
God is in control, I am on His side, and

That means all is well with my soul.
Everyday is a blessing for GOD Is!

PASS THIS ON IF YOU MEAN IT
I love the Lord and thank Him for all that he does in my life,
therefore, I passing this on. Yes I do love Jesus.
He is my source of existence and my Savior.
He keeps me functioning each and everyday.
Without Him, I will be nothing.
Without Him, I am nothing but with Him I can do all things.
Philippians 4:13

God says: My grace is sufficient (II.Corinthians 12:9 & Psalms 91:15)
You say:"I can't figure things out"
God says: I will direct your steps (Proverbs 3:6)
You say: " I can't do it"
God says: You can do all things (Phillipians 4:13)
You say: "I'm not able"
God says: I am able (II Corinthians 9:8)
You say: " Its not worth it"

You say: "I can't forgive myself"
God says: I FORGIVE YOU (I John 1:9 & Romans 8:1)
You say: "I can't make it"
God says: I will supply all your needs (Phillipians 4:19)

Remember we have a saviour {Jesus} who is the rock of our salavation.
When Satan comes knocking at your door, just say,
"Jesus will you get that for me."

that's often been helping me, God Bless you

smurfy - these are fleshy worries - unavoidable - but cast them aside, put your faith in the Lord and His plan will work.

One of the hardest things I ever did was declare bankruptcy. Heck, I didn't want to be 'one of those' people, but I had no choice. When I started it, I couldn't see the light at the end of the tunnel, but now that I'm closer than ever - I don't know why I was even worried. I live in Southern Orange County, CA where the car you drive, the clothes you wear, and the job you have is your status. I live in one of the richest, most beautiful part of CA, but you know what - it's spiritually dead. I tried to live up to that status - living with the Jones - but I failed, miserable.

After all my trials, I have a 3yr old son (gets 25% of my paycheck - no problem though), NO CREDIT, and I drive a '72 Caddy Fleetwood cause I can afford insurance and registration. I have exactly $53.38 after my rent, car, and food are paid for, but I've never been more happy in my 28 yrs. I have no material wealth, no financial strength, I can only buy a pair of pants and t-shirt every other month. Still, I'm better off than SOOOO MANY people cause I know God and I feel His love.

Don't ever think your in a rutt - people choose to live and drive in them. You can always pull out. Finish school, read your bible, keep moving forward, ever educating and learning. Accept that you may not ever become what you want to, or live where you want to, but you have to accept that. God has a plan, be the best you can within His plan for you.

Strength, Love and Prayer.

Hello:

Sorry for your current circumstances. Things are the way they are today, but they don't have to stay this way.

As well as prayer, you need to set some goals. Set small short term goals that lead to larger longer term goals.

Get a library card - read at least one book a month.
Look around at the education options in your area.
Ask about work study. These may pay more than your current job and you could be going to school.
Visit at least two different churches a month. God will tell you the right one after a time.
Try to meet some new friends through a local non-profit organization.

Pray......
