Yeah well, exclusions.State Insurance Board. That's the ticket.
I cannot feasible [atm] pay this back.Maybe we should do a donation project to get WA started for saving . If anyone is interested you can PM me. We used to do this stuff for fellow OBOB’ers back in our busier days.
Well people might not be able to donate much but if we can get enough donations it can get you started.I cannot feasible [atm] pay this back.
I appreciate your good heart.
I have to say @WarriorAngel I'm impressed how you manage your finances (really). Finding ways to save on costs where you can, I always admire that trait in people and wish I was better at it. I feel like I obsess over that sometimes.
Something tells me the insurance industry is about to fail or see major restructuring (which I fear will mean structuring towards a socialist bend). I mean, here in CA we had several providers pull out of the state altogether because they didn't want to cover the risk of wildfires for homeowners. One provider came back, but still costs are through the roof now. Some family friends of mine their annual cost of coverage for their home is almost $10k.
You can't get boat insurance in Florida.holy smokes.
That's a lot. That's $1250 a month for 8 months. WOW!
I heard that now in FL they are refusing hurricane zones.
Because of flying debris. Roofs, glass etc... broken up.
Well, for one thing flood is not insured. Pipes bursting are not insured.
Basic policies insure fire, lightening, internal explosion [gas stove etc]
Then the broad policies cover other things. The more you add, the better. Higher the cost.
The company sent me a letter months ago that all 'affordable' insurance will not be renewable in this state.
In fact they were ending affordable coverage. Especially in this state?
I'm curious why that is.
I miss Donna [she passed in Jan] she said she never met someone who could squeeze a nickel to make ends meet like I could.
Big family, poverty = you figure it out. I raised chickens [eggs] they were free range. I grew veggies and canned them. I shopped yard sales every weekend to get my kids clothes for all seasons.
I wasn't allowed to have money - it was my 'exes'. Well, whatever.
I left with just enough to get a foreclosed home. I wish him the best. I am civil with him.
I don't much want to carry junk with me or my heart.
Thanks for your suggestion I am good with money.
Middle child of 8. [Number 4 literally.]
That's usually covered as separate structure on land. You can't get boat insurance in Florida.
These homeowners insurance issues start to give clarity to why folks in disaster zones like tornado alley just live in mobile homes, cheap and easy to replace with or without insurance when they're inevitably damaged or destroyed.holy smokes.

I think even with higher premiums, they desire homes on strong "silts" so to speak. These homeowners insurance issues start to give clarity to why folks in disaster zones like tornado alley just live in mobile homes, cheap and easy to replace with or without insurance when they're inevitably damaged or destroyed.
You are very welcome WA! God bless you!Thank you Michie, thank you Gnarlwhal
For your assistance in my plight. Love you.
God bless you 100 fold and keep you in peace.
A lady whom I know in a nearby parish had a financial need come up all of a sudden, and she needed to find a new place to live. She knew a man in the local Knights of Columbus - he found both some money and some volunteer laborers from the Knights. They helped her move into a mobile home nearby, which needed some carpentry skills and at least for now solved the immediate problems. My bathroom floor got wet, tiles snapped. I am not a construction worker or whatever. So I took the tiles off, saw the beginning of the floor lost board below. So I bought wood hardener and wood filler.
I was waiting to get more filler when my sons foot went through the floor.
So I found out from my friend that would be covered by insurance.
I explained the situation to the adjuster.
Waited for bids.
Found out today when I called to ask where to send the bid that I was 'denied'
1. Because I had too many revolving accounts out - which were student loans and paid off months ago. So much for up to date reporting.
And what does that have to do with insurance?
2. He said the claim was too late.
How could it be too late? I called after my sons foot went through. I had a roll of linoleum I had bought a few years ago. I was working on it.
AND he stated I neglected taking care of it.
Like I did it deliberately.
I can't even.
Can anyone tell why having accounts [which were paid off now] would affect insurance...?
I would bet it is TransUnion.
ABSOLUTELY slower than molasses.
I won a case years ago that I owed some money and 2 years later it jumped to $10,000 and I won.
No amount of interest is that high. [I lost my job at the time and my ex said he wouldn't pay my bills - which basically I used a card to get gas at $4 a gallon... ] because $30 a month was a bother as minimum payment and he made $4000 a month some years back.
and the magistrate letter I won was never placed on my reporting.
I am tired.
Like so tired.
So tired I can't even cry tbh.
