I had a dream a few nights ago that is very different from my usual dreams. It was very vivid, and seems full of symbolism. I told my husband when I woke up, and I never am compelled to describe my dreams, as they are usually quite random and zainy. I believe that any messages we receive will always be confirmed in God's Word. Can anyone help me understand the images in my dream?

In my dream I am roaming the halls of a large building, it is similar to an old school, long halls with many rooms off the halls. It is similar to halls in the basement of a building, old, grungy looking. In the halls are large men, covered with blood and viscous patches of blood, almost like they were just born, but more grotesque. It is understood in the dream that these men have come from a horrible war. They are walking through the halls to different rooms. I remember thinking, "How can they walk? They must be in such pain." In the different rooms are beds with other men in them who are about to die. The bloody men stand by the beds of the dying men and I understand them to be saying goodbye, or paying their respects. I feel small in comparison to the men. I am not afraid of them, but am very disturbed by their appearance. In my hands I am holding white paper. The paper is perfectly white. I remember noting that it is absolutely perfectly white. It is my job to cut triangles out of the paper and give them to the men who are walking around going to the other men about to die. The triangles are cut from a circle in the paper, so that they have the shape of a pie slice. I am going through the halls and rooms doing my task. I also go into a field with tall grass. There are paths through the grass to walk on. It is grey outside, and I am walking the paths through the tall grass looking to give triangles to men who are walking in the field to visit men dying in the field. The question is asked, "what do we do with the triangles" and the answer is "put them on their eyes." Then the dream ends.

Off the top of my head, it sounds like a dream encouraging you in evangelism or missions. The bloody men are lost souls, the white paper is the righteousness of Christ. Cutting them into triangles to put on their eyes is to open their eyes to the Gospel. The blood all over them is their own righteousness. Isaiah calls our righteousness filthy rags, which is understood to mean bloody from menstruation. The large building and halls may be the dead churches that some who think they are Christians and have followed the rules, but never had the cleansing of Christ in their lives.

If the dream came from God, He will give you the interpretation. This is how it always worked. To seek opinions on a forum may not be the best way to get advise as it will vary widely and cause you confusion. Additionally, there is no Holy Spirit gift of dream interpretation. It is very popular in new age theology and unfortunately has crept into Christianity. My apologies to this forum if I stepped on some toes.
Blessings

There are so many variables, we would have to know more. Like, what have you gone through over the last week or two, what did you have to eat before going to bed, what stories might you have heard recently... Like the other poster said, if it is from God He will provide an interpretation. But sometimes a dream is just a dream

Gen 41:15 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I have dreamed a dream, and there is none that can interpret it: and I have heard say of thee, that thou canst understand a dream to interpret it.
Gen 41:16 And Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, It is not in me: God shall give Pharaoh an answer of peace.

But God used Joseph to give the interpretation. Interpreting dreams may fall under interpreting tongues or discernment of spirits. Don't be hasty in dismissing interpretations as not from God.

He gave Joseph and Daniel the ability to interpret dreams for people who have no access to God. The God of Israel. There is no Holy Spirit gift of dream interpretation for Christians. We know directly.

The idea of this being a message to engage in more evangelism makes some sense. Obviously none of us can say 100% what it might mean. But from what you described, I get the general picture of you going to hopeless places where world-weary or zombie-like people can be found and giving them hope through something (the Gospel?). This hope is a unifying thing (thus the triangles were all from one circle) and causes them to see differently than before (the reason they have to have the triangles on their eyes). Also the triangles could represent the Trinity by their shape and pure whiteness. The field could represent the larger global mission field where the same kind of hope and healing is needed.

If there is any message in your dream, that would be it, I'm sure. To take the Truth to people dying in their brokeness and pain. Some people are so far from God and have such deep issues it can be very intimidating to try to reach out to them. I'm thinking people like prostitutes, gang members, corrupt leaders, drug dealers, certain celebrities, etc. But maybe they're the people you're supposed to reach out to...

Only you will be able to understand that dream. Journal with it, dialogue with it, explore each piece of it. It will take a lot of time.

There are two basic types of Dream. One is just chaos, fragment of images from all kinds of places just thrown together. But then there are dreams with some line of logic like this one. It is probably more a reflection of what is going on in your life now or recent past.

A good rule of thumb is to treat everything in it as an aspect of yourself. You are the bloody men, fragments of yourself...just like the triangles....fragments of a whole.

The white piece of paper seems to represent spiritual discernment of some kind. The man asking what to do with it indicates to me they need to be taught how to use that spiritual insight to fight their battles right...if the triangles are just pieces of a circle, maybe they have to work together to get the full picture... Just a guess...

A word of knowledge is when God tells you something that you may other wise not know. Interpreting dreams could be under a word of knowledge.
To add to my other post and to clarify. The OP is asking for an interpretation of an obscure dream who also feels it is full of symbolism. What you are describing above is a "word of knowledge" which is certainly a gift of the Holy Spirit. However it must not be conflated. One is a Holy Spirit filled plainly spoken message by God and the other is a flesh driven opinion by humans.
Christians should exercise discernment at all times. This is one area that has taken many by storm with deception. Anyone engaging regularly in this type of activity should be very careful. Their opinion is not the word of God. I will pray for these people.
Blessings

As one who has operated in the Word of Knowledge, that is NOT how it works. A word of knowledge comes with inward knowing, NOT "a plainly spoken message".

I think your opinion is academic, not based on experience in flowing in the gifts. Also, the proof of the pudding will be from Ms. Small who had the dream in which interpretation bears the most witness in her spirit.

However, in reviewing the thread she has not responded to anyone, so we will have to wait and see.

It's my understanding that this forum "...precludes people that do not believe in the gift (such as tongues) from teaching against them."

From the thread "New Forum perhaps" located in the support Center (tried to copy)

Our lists arent comprehensive.

Our lists arent comprehensive.
Nor was Paul writing a treatise on the gifts at the time, but was bringing order to the Greeks of Corinth who used the gifts but were spiritually immature.

I think that hearing about the armies in The Final Quest will partly answer your questions about this.
