*SPOILERS*

I just saw it. It was good but sad  I cried at the part with the dog.

I heard that the book was COMPLETELY different; a whole different story. I think I might've liked the way they did the book better, but I guess they weren't trying to do that kind of movie.

I was wondering what others thought.

Actually a very deep spiritual message in the movie.

I watched it with chatty kiddies coming in 50 minutes into the film, five groups of 4 each, five minutes apart, it drove me BONKERS!!!

Anyway, haven't read the book, didn't even know there was one.

Obviously that guy presented the Light and the bad guys I automatically summed up as demons and representing sin ( after all, they were hiding and couldn't come near the light, get it? Hmmm...)

And yes how the solution to everybody's death virus was found in the Blood of the doctor ( Will Smith ) who was the cure ( blood, Blood of Jesus - yeah, you got it ).

And interesting how the woman and her kid told Smith's character thats now that everything has quieted down, how people can now hear and listen - very symbolic about how today in our rushed lives we can easily miss Holy Spirit's Voice - we need to quiet down and spend time with Him to hear His voice.

And yes did anybody notice in the end when she reached the town, the firts thing you saw when the gate was opened was the church tower?

I think I heard that the DVD has an alternate ending which goes along with the book. I really liked the movie.

HERE BE SPOILERS

It reminded me a lot of the circle trilogy books from Ted Dekker. A vaccine that goes wrong. And one guy's blood turns out to be the cure. And he gives his life to save everyone elses.

where did you get the idea of it being spiritual? I can see it when you point it out, but I never would've picked up on all that. Did you read that somewhere? was it done on purpose?

Hi Ciaradawn, no I didn't read it anywhere. Also, I actually don't know if it was done on purpose.

I would like to share this with you, for it is important to me: When I started walking with the Lord, I asked God to ALWAYS, when I see a movie, show me the deeper meanings behind what is actually going on and because I watch a lot of movies to speak to me through them.

These were a couple of the things He told me about "I am Legend".

Now that we are on the topic, have you ever seen the movie "The Village" by M. Night Shyamalan?

God sowed me the most awesum messages there, here are some:

Remember when the elders of the village each had like a black box in their houses? And they told, as far as I can remember, everyone that once a year they looked in it to remind them about the past and how bad the world is out there?

Well, obviously in the end of the movie it turned out to be all the bad memories of their past that they kept in there. And also, remember that in the end we find out that the primary reason of the "Village" which was created by the group of elders was exactly to escape the ugliness of the world? And so they told others that these "creatures" in the woods are blocking them from going to the towns (or into the bad world)? Those "creatures" represented demons, and that is exactly what the creatures, that these guys made up of course, did. They kept these people in bondage. And isn't that what the enemy does to the children of God?

God showed me that that is exactly how some of His children are, unfortunately. Jesus came and gave us a life of Freedom, but some people still in their minds hold onto the dark boxes of the past and often "peek" in there, and unfortunately do not receive proper healing, and so they go through life dragging the past behind them. And remember that Paul said in one Scripture that we should reach out to that which lies ahead and sever ourselves from that which is past?

Also, like the elders who secluded themselves in this Village, God showed me how His children, with so much pain of the past - and remember not just children of God, ANY person on earth who has been hurt in some way - how some isolate themselves in their pain and this is one place where Satan still holds some in bondage, and torment.
And what these elders in the village did was they spread these lies to others, all because they had fear and pain. Ever heard the expression "hurt people hurt people"? Exactly what we have here.

Awesum, awesum stuff!!!!!! I dare you to also ask God to do the same for you - He is so faithful and He never fails to surprise me, ever!

And no He doesn't always say something to me in a movie, only when He feels He wants to show me something. I asked Him, didn't I?
Blessings!
