• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Thanks EB812. It seems like I get depressed when I first wake up the most. I don't know why. Does this affect anyone else the same way?

Sometimes, when I wake up, I feel depressed and it affects my whole day too. I just don't know why I feel depressed but all of a sudden, I will feel so upset and I just couldn't smile at times. Now, each morning when I wake up, I will say, "Good morning, Jesus! Lord, bless my day and guide me as I go along today." It helps me... :) Perhaps, you can give it a try....

Hi Holly,

Yeah this affects me as well, sometimes when I get out of bed I don't want to face the day. What helps me is pick up the phone and talk to a friend, or just go out for a walk. Sometimes it feels like trying to move a 10 ton truck out the front door.

I'll pray for you, hope you feel better soon, if you want to talk my PM box is always open.

God Bless.

I might try that sometime VivDaGurl if I remember. I have also heard the suggestion of praying and doing a devotional in the morning. Thing is, when I first wake up, I usually don't feel like doing anything but coming in to the living room and getting on the computer. ^_^

Holly 3278, hi there...

If that is the case, may I suggest you something now?

Why don't you download a wallpaper to remind you of God? Or a piece of note with a prayer on it to be sticked on the monitor so that each time when you see it, you'll say a prayer?

Hi everyone. I am so depressed today. I have been struggling with my faith and all and I just hate being depressed.

I think everyone does! ;) Sorry, just had to say that. Now onto a more serious note...

I know how hard it can be to draw closer to God when you're depressed. It's actually something I've struggled with myself. But you need to force yourself because that is the only way that you will get out of your depression. Read, pray, go to church, worship... do these things even when you don't feel like it. Soon, it will become a habit and you won't mind it so much. And then you'll absolutely love it! I will be praying for you. :prayer:
