I’m dumb for thinking that this song was because of me

when I was going though my crush’s Spotify playlist she had a playlist called pop icon and She had a lot of song in that playlist so I saw the song brown eyes by lady Gaga and I thought that song was because of me cause I have brown eyes. But I’m dumb to think that song is because of me. I guess she just likes the song and thats why she put that song as pop icon.

I just looked at the lyrics and wondered why you would WANT that song to be about you? It is a breakup song, not a love song.
As long as it appeals to the emotional life of young people...

Because music doesn't appeal to the emotional lives of older people?
This was about pop music and pop icons of today and Lady Gaga, though.
Jake here came across as a young person to me too.
And i didn't say what you inferred.
So what's your objection to what i wrote?

I was wondering what was the purpose of the statement. I don't see how it applies to just the younger generation. We are all affected by music ... both the message and the tune. Music is a pull on our emotional side....be it pop music, classical, or even old hymns

Well, young folks tend to be more fanatic fans and zealots, probably because they are the target audience.
That wears off when you get older.
...or at least, it should, i.m.o.

OP's thoughts are not unique.
I've seen / heard this kind of thing before, and usually with young people.
Of course "young" is also a relative thing.
I mean mainly teens and twennies.

Play the right music and I can turn to an emotional mush. There are a few songs that I believe defined my marriage and the love my husband and I felt for each other...and I get very emotional. I have never been a fanatic fan or zealot...and my preference is country music, not pop. But I believe that music affects all generations the same...just the genre is different. I think in my 50s, the right song could also soften my heart toward a person. Current generation uses playlists. My generation used mixed tapes. Previous generations had a huge stack of singles on records and just let the record player play there way through the stack.
