  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'll pray for you Victor... you seem to have some deep hate/resentment for Ellen White and what she wrote.

What is the impact of a belief in a future "national Sunday law" on the persons who hold it? How does it impact their eternal security? How does it impact their view of non-sabbatarians?

Cool we're playing arm chair psychology now...

Can I play?...

How does asking rhetorical questions further your stated purpose of unity among the brethren.

Shucks, it was Ellen who claimed inspiration from the devil, and you won't even listen to her own testimony!

If her disposition were up to me, I would have concluded Ellen White's writings to be the product of a fertile imagination mixed with resentment for experiencing forced ejection from the Methodist church her family were members of and ignorance of the Biblical Gospel. However, Ellen White did not leave that option open for us. She insisted that you compare her writings with Scripture and make a determination that her inspiration was from either God or the devil - no middle ground was offered as an option. All I have done is complied with Ellen's wishes, something you apparently aren't willing to do.

And as I wrote before, it is really not conducive to discussion when you can't answer direct questions and defer to personal attacks. Throughout this thread you have not responded to any inquiries regarding the premise a Sunday law relies on, and nothing objective for your "faith" in a coming Sunday law.

Sure. All are welcome. I'd be interested your thoughts on the impact of "the national Sunday" law on the person who is concerned about it. Feel free to share your insights.

Open and honest, respectful dialogue is perhaps one of the better ways to get there. BTW, I don't define "unity" as "without disagreement."
