  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Ok guys, let me throw this one out for debate:

You recieve a message from God. He says "I know you believe in me, and I am flattered, but I really don't need to be worshipped. I have no desire to be glorified because I have no ego to feed. Just continue living life according to my teachings".

Do you adapt to his new wishes and stop worshipping, or disobey his new wish and carry on anyway?

God does not seek worship from people to satisfy His own needs or desires. That is a merely human experience.

His desire for people to worship Him derives from His knowledge that, as our creator, He alone is the ultimate source of all that we hope for or desire. To not relate to Him will always lead to our being shortchanged eventually. Our worship of God is in voluntary recognition of just how immense God is is every conceivable way.

2 Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the LORD your God that I give you.
[Deut 4:2]

18I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. 19And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.
[Revelation 22:28-29]

God even will never add to or take away from the bible. But what you said would be to take away from the bible. Obeying God's commandments would be to praise him. If God said that, he would be flip flopping. My pastor once said in a sermon: "If what you hear God tell you contradicts with the word of God [the bible], think twice about if it was God or not."

The deist in me says, that's what "God" would say anyway, except for the teachings part. I mean, which teachings do you follow? You would think if he went thru the trouble of sending you a message, he would tell you which religion is right, or more likely that they are all right and all this fighting among religions about truth and who has it is futile.
