Nearly all Baptist churches have a hymn of invitation at the end of the preaching. You are encouraged to accept Jesus Christ, rededicate you life, join the church, or just for prayer.

Is this a good way to invite people to make decisions by singing four verses of
"Just as I am" or some other song? How does your church deal with people wanting to accept Jesus Christ or other desires?

In watching some other churches they invite people at the end of the message hymn to go to the room located at a certain place. There they will more fully explain from the Bible what being a Christian is really about. They have Deacons or counselor's to help in any other concerns.

Our church just deals with people right where they are. I do NOT like that and thing the way mentioned above is the correct way to deal honestly with these concerns people have.

I wonder how many people who just said a prayer with a crowd, or in front of someone really were genuinely born again?

We don't have a hymn of invitation at all. We sing a hymn but it is just a part of the worship service not an invitation. Though not every time the preacher will sometimes simply ask that if anyone desires to be baptized they are welcome to tell him. We do not in any way practice the abomination started by the heretic Charles Finney. The "invitation" is always in the message where people are simply told that if they can they ought to trust Christ alone by faith to save them.

Same.

The church I attend use to have the "invitation" but no longer.

We pray after the sermon, receive a benediction and leave.

Our church has a prayer team at the back of the church and you can go to the elders for prayer while others are standing singing hymns, if they need a quiet place they go in another room. After you are prayed for you just go back to where you are sitting.

If you need counseling you can call the pastor and he can pray for you or elders can over the phone..

Maybe suggest to your pastor you would like more one on one prayer time during the service or places to go away from others for prayer. I agree sometimes you dont want to ask for prayer in front of the entire congregation.

We dont have invitations at the end of every service to go forward and make a decison like other churches that treat accepting Jesus like an auction. Outreach is really where the person is and as the holy spirit leads, not something staged.
