Have you ever stopped and noticed that what we do is "hurry up and wait?"
We race around and get everything prepared and then we have to wait for the event to happen.
With all that Jesus accomplished, He never seemed to be in a hurry. He never seemed terribly rushed. There is a sense of calm and peacefulness in almost every biblical story.
We live in fast times and pressured times. The world wants us to plan next year's time this year. We are suppose to think of Christmas in September. We are suppose to organize our time, energy and money. We are suppose to plan for our retirement, even when we are still young.
Thank goodness Jesus didn't worry about His "retirement plan", but focused on His "Resurrection Plan." The light of the world is here, not to hurry us along, but to bathe us into His being. Jesus knew the importance of enjoying each moment and living in each moment.
He knew that the only way to balance His time, energy, and resources was by first giving a major portion of His time to God. He not only spent much time alone with God, He encouraged others to do the same.
Allow yourself to be bathed in the warm light of God this day and may all your cares be melted. May peace replace tension and may energy replace fatigue.
But mostly, may the priorities in your life be arranged by the Divine hand of God.
