  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I don't know what it is but, it seems the past few days I have had this tremendous need to learn all I can about Jesus and the Word? I don't know if it's because I have recently been so ill, or the fact that I have also recently re-dedicated myself to the Lord at church one Sunday but, it seems like I can't get enough fast enough?

Has this happened to anyone else before and if so, what do you think it means???

Thanks in advance!

Wolfe, that happened to me back in 1973. It lasted for two years. I was in church, taking Bible classes at the college level, praying, fellowship. Then it showed down ... just a little bit! But I went on to get my BS in Bible and ministry, have read probably read 500 Christian books and 1500 Christian web pages. Taught Sunday school for 35 years, preached 100's of times.

So I'd say enjoy what's happening to you. Nothing like when the Holy Spirit is moving in your life.

Oh, I am most definitely enjoying it, lol. I wanted to do more to show my faith (for me) and in 2004 I became ordained but, I have never done anything with it as far as preach or anything of that nature. I had the hopes of one day opening a cowboy church (which I believe I mentioned in another thread) and felt I needed to be ordained for that to be possible and then I came to find later that a teacher of the Word doesn't really have to be ordained to preach the Word so... I never pursued it beyond that point?

Maybe one day perhaps? We never know what God's plans are???

Amen about God qualifying the ones He calls. He specifically calls people that you wouldn't think He would so that HE will get the glory, and people won't be able to say, oh it's cuz he/she is such and such. Instead they would say, wow that guy had NO experience and look what GOD did thru him!
It is amazing when you have a hunger for the Word that you just can't get enough! Embrace it and keep devouring and learning. That is the Holy Spirit working in your life! God DOES have a plan for you, Bo!

Well, I would be the first person on the planet to tell you that I would be the last person I know of that God would choose to become a man of God? My brother (older) cringes at the idea while my SIL thinks I would make a great Pastor/Preacher so, who knows what God has in store for any of us???

Yes, He does! I do know that ever since I was a young man (adult), I have felt the need (calling?) to share the Word with people, either by becoming a pastor or by playing gospel music & traveling the country to small out of the way country churches. That was always a dream of mine.
