Hi all, God has fulfilled a promise he made to me last year and I feel a lot happier in life right now and am working through a lot of issues with a therapist. Praise the Lord. Im sure you can relate to me when i say that its easier to hunger and delight in Gods presence when your depressed or unhappy, we tend to lean on him more. but now I'm happier Im finding it requires a lot of discipline and intention to stoke the fires of my heart toward God

so im looking for your tips and insights into how to stoke the fire of your heart during times of ease and blessing

thank you

This is a 4 part series by Andrew Wommack on staying full of God.
Many people think they are destined to go back to the way things were and this joy they have now won't last.
It is based on Romans 1:20 in reverse.
For when they knew God they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful, but they became vain in there imaginations and there foolish heart was darkened.

Andrew says that if we would make it a point to glorify God in all things, be thankful, keep our imagination and guard our hearts we can stay full of God.
Obviously he goes into a lot more detail than that as each part is over an hour long.

"He has told you, O man, what is good;
and what does the Lord require of you
but to do justice, and to love kindness,
and to walk humbly with your God?" ~ Micah 6:8

Read the Psalms a little everyday and take note of the ones that are the most meaningful to you. :wave:

I make sure I thank God for all he's doing in my life when things are going well, just as much as when I cry out to him during hard times. Always keep God in your mind and heart and soul. Always.

First, I am so glad you are in a blessing stage. We need these along the journey to keep us going. Second, you are right about the discipline to keep the heart fire burning. Perhaps journal about the valley and the mountaintop, then read back through it occasionally to be reminded of His faithfulness. Give thanks for the mountaintop and enjoy the moment. I've found this helps to remind me of struggles I have overcome with His help. Maybe it will work for you, too.
